Best wishes for Socha. But dang that was fast.

Wonder how much Rolo is making as a senior offensive analyst at Cal?

Maybe time to call Chad Kapanui to come home and coach Micah and the QB room.

Unlikely given that CK's son Champ chose to sign with MWC rival San Jose State instead of UH. Even if Logan doesn't get another season of eligibility, UH done with 2025 LB recruiting.

You never know until you ask. Being able to come home and be close to family is a powerful driver. Especially if you have to live in San Jose.

Would be ideal for MA12 if CK follows the same path home like CB (moving back from Bishop Gorman HS, LV)….but unclear if son LB Champ @ UH would be part of a package deal….since he can’t yet enter the Spring transfer portal as he is not yet enrolled @ SJSU. As such, he’d have to obtain a scholarship release from SJSU in order to enroll @ UH (as long as UH is willing to sign him on scholarship ….given that LB is currently not a 2025 recruiting priority position).

Would also probably extend UH’s recruiting pipeline with Bishop Gorman HS.

CB's move back to Hawaii is a career move. One day, he will be Head Coach. Same with Timmy Chang. The move to the University of Hawaii is a career move. Local boys coming home? True, but not really, it's the career path. An opportunity.

I like the idea of Chad K coming back to UH as a coach. It would be good for his career. Would be hard for his wife (who is also local) to give up that big house. But if anyone can, would be a local girl, who can fit right in.

But I do think his son Champ should go to San Jose. San Jose = Hawaii. Not just former Hawaii residences in the Bay Area, but the major coaches were local UH players. For a "mainland" kid, that's all the Hawaii he needs, and used to.

I don't know, maybe he doesn't like Hawaii/Honolulu. Yes, he has to go visit Tutu at Papakolea. Home for mom and dad is Hawaii, but home to Champ may be Las Vegas.

Home for Champ’s Mom and Dad is Hawaii. May be that home for Champ is where Mom and Dad is. He should honor his commitment and play at San Jose, and play there until it he wants to transfer home to play in front of family.
