https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... ligibilityThe judge's ruling Wednesday specifically addresses the NCAA bylaw that deals with junior college players. It does not restrict the NCAA from enforcing the rest of the restrictions it has in place on the number of years athletes can play a sport in college, but the limited injunction could signal that the court system sees the NCAA's eligibility requirements as an illegal restraint. Campbell is the third judge in the past year to issue an injunction on NCAA rules due to concerns that they limit the athletes' ability to maximize their earning potential.

Sounds like Sauce & C-Bo might be on-board with returning for another season....

This would help our defense if any of the 4 returns.
Also we should heavily recruit talented JC guys who want to play regardless of the NIL. Going get plenty available.
No need recruit any more HS players

I think HS guys will be underrecruited so I think we should still go after them. We may get some of the better ones but I think our main focus should be JCs.BigWave96744 wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:11 am This would help our defense if any of the 4 returns.

Re: Will our JC players get more years of eligiblity?
When Punahou drafted Mosi Tatupu from Farrington in his senior year, they flunk him back to the 10th grade. The reason was he was not that good academically up to Punahou standards. In his Senior year at Punahou he would be dragging 4 guys on his back on this way to the TD. That's what happens when a Man play with boys.
So now, we will get 24 year old guys playing against 18 year old true Freshmans. I don't mind if they are there in graduate school.

Re: Will our JC players get more years of eligiblity?
These age gaps have been around for a while. Many guys with injuries get a few years back on their clock. The diff between an 18-year-old and a 22 isn't much different if you add two more yrs. The biggest difference is college experience and system mastery.Irse wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 11:50 amBYU has been doing that for years.cabanalane wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 5:10 am

Re: Will our JC players get more years of eligiblity?
I used to be hard core NFL (back in the Tom Landry days). I'm sort of watching more NFL again. These guys are fast, strong, etc. Age can give you that automatically. I'm all for guys getting "more time" because they should. Junior Lopati was out for two year straight (knee 1 and Knee 2 back to back), so he had like 7 years. If JC players get more years, then almost make sense for guys to go straight to JC first, cause no count.
All these rules in the last few years does not make the college game better IMO. Ok, they do (make it better). But that's why I watch NFL.

While it’ll be great to have Sauce and others for another go round, I don’t think Pavia will ultimately prevail.
