Just how a rambling, septuagenarian reality TV show host could have been elected as president, not once but twice, is a complete mystery to me. Trump's first round of appointees at least had the balls to tell him no. Now, he has people like Hegseth, an alcoholic former national guardsman and abysmal TV show host, heading the DOD?!!! IDK, guys...as solidly Democratic as Hawaii is...it almost seems like this thread is pointless.

I'm not worried about myself. I'm almost to retirement age. I don't own any stocks. I just sold some gold for a hefty profit after waiting in line for over an hour in China Town. I also bought a car made over here. They were eager to make a sale. During my last trip home, I was shocked at how expensive things were. I can only imagine how expensive they'll be the next time I'm back...which won't be long. I guess I'll B&B again...cook at home and buy from the taco truck.

Also, you've got to put your mind-set into a more global perspective. Lashing out at 'Thigh-land" doesn't help the problem...which is China. American products have been made here for many years and that has benefited both countries. Attacking American investment in Thailand doesn't help.
Tayat Kanchanachitra, president of the Rayong Real Estate Association, said land transactions in Rayong have been bustling, driven by strong interest from Chinese investors in the industrial sector.

"They are setting up factories, but they are bringing in their own contractors, labour and construction materials, bypassing local suppliers -- except for concrete, which must be mixed on-site," he said.

It's hard to say how much Thais truly benefit, but we are certainly missing out in some ways," said Mr Tayat.

He said Chinese contractors brought in to build factories in Rayong for Chinese investors may later take on other construction jobs, with many promoting their services on TikTok, potentially competing with Thai contractors.

that crime has nothing to do with that group. don't randomly free associate bad things to bad groups to politicize non-political things, there's literally enough of that bs going on by the current administration and by "news stations" with a heavy political bias. pls be better than the garbage that surrounds you

Hello! Hello! There's a thing called satire.

I wouldn't call this satire but maybe a cheap attempt to try to associate a crime to the Proud Boys who are more or less affiliated to the White House not disassociated with the Administration. So, I can see why most people may not chuckle at the attempt at humor but ask why or say huh?

The VAT tax or tariffs, I believe, is just to make up for the 3% loss in income tax on the rich which was due to expire this year and also to make up for the reduced revenue of corporate tax. I lost my second pair of sunglasses and had to buy another one and all the Foster Grant sunglasses said made in China. I assume that since prices haven't changed, the inventory is still out there.

I might have used the term "satire" incorrectly. But then again, people say things are ironic, when it's not ironic. I don't correct people because I don't really know. Remember small kid time when you have to "corrected by" on your classmate answer sheet. Oh boy, too many mistakes. I let some errors go. It's going to an "F" anyway. So, no make diff.

Calling me "garbage" was funny. It's funny because it's true. Making fun of the Proud Boys was taboo. I thought that the Proud Boys was named after a movie shown at the Risque Theatre starring The Hedgehog.

I'm just annoyed because I've heard of that local story, and clicked on that link because your statement suggested a possible link to a crappy group. But after reading the story, there was absolutely no link and I just wasted my time cuz of some made up stuff. I then call the current administration and heavily biased news platforms garbage because they use their influence/power and lies to wrongly and intentionally attribute some bad event to something they don't like. you're just some person writing on a forum, vaguely doing something similar, although I personally don't think you're doing it as maliciously as those other groups. I then suggest that even though there is a lot of garbage floating around the internet and airwaves, that we should strive to be better than the garbage that surrounds us.

The latest commentary of the Trump tariff nonsense by John Oliver is the best I've seen yet. It's got almost 5 mil views already.

Why would the president want to stop Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Oh wait, Pharma companies and Medical Insurance companies donated a lot to his campaign. Flock seniors and their insurance.

I watch John Oliver on YouTube. They did an episode about Hawaii. He can get away with being snarky because he looks like a British nerd.

I am in no way recommending that anyone watch too much of John Oliver. He does, however, address the elephant in the room appropriately in this case. I don't get how either side of the argument ignores the obvious because their guy says the elephant isn't there.
