I wonder with this public release, whether Trump names Gaetz to a White House post where Senate confirmation is not required, or will Trump finally throw Gaetz under the proverbial bus?

Good point. Birds of a feather stick together.

Trump now looking to bully Panama for the Canal and Denmark for Greenland. I'm like, WTF? Then I figured it out. Trump is under investigation for tax evasion in Panama and his eoil and gas buddies in the Deep South want Greenland so they can continue to set the planet on fire. Unfortunately for everyone concerned, there is no planet B. Thy guy is a self serving narcissist, a bully, and dangerous. His voting bloc, the southern evangelicals and Faux News adherents are just as dangerous.

the reason Trump tries to appoint these unqualified or underqualified people is that he doesn't care about what is good for the USA. His only concern is what is good for he himself.

The last time around, Trump appointed a bunch of the former idiots he belittled in the Republican primary to important positions in government. It would seem he intends to do it again...only much more stupidly? I am truly sorry that the majority of Americans, who elected Trump, care nothing about decency...and lack common sense. The appointment of a degenerate Fox News host to the Department of Defense is just ridiculous. My mom used to tell me stories of a grandmother who would dress up to watch a particular tv show because she believed he could see her through the TV. I think most of those who voted for Trump are like her.

Majority of Americans voted for Chump because of the high price of eggs. With the bird flu raging on and on, the price of eggs ain't coming down anytime soon.

This is actually pretty interesting regarding a civil war between two factions of MAGA per Heather Cox Richardson.
Civil war has broken out within the MAGA Republicans. On the one side are the traditional MAGAs, who tend to be white, anti-immigrant, and less educated than the rest of the U.S. They believe that the modern government’s protection of equal rights for women and minorities has ruined America, and they tend to want to isolate the U.S. from the rest of the world. They make up Trump’s voting base.
On the other side are the new MAGAs who appear to have taken control of the incoming Trump administration. Led by Elon Musk, who bankrolled Trump’s campaign, the new MAGA wing is made up of billionaires, especially tech entrepreneurs, many of whom are themselves immigrants.
During the campaign, these two wings made common cause because they both want to destroy the current U.S. government, especially as President Joe Biden had been using it to strengthen American democracy. Traditional MAGA wants to get rid of the government that protects equality and replace it with one that enforces white male supremacy and Christianity. New MAGA—which some have started to call DOGE, after the Department of Government Efficiency run by Musk and pharmaceutical entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy—wants to get rid of the government that regulates business, especially technology, and protects American interests against competition from countries like China.

I would say Musk since Trump approves of his H1Bs.

This may seem like a trivial move but if Japan took over American steel, they could find cheaper places to make steel and just use the US to just distribute the steel.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets ... 82a0&ei=61
The way the Germans kept Japanese steel from competing is by requiring a certain amount of iron in the steel.

things can be good for one thing and bad for another. Take smoking for instance, while the bad effects are so serious it's hard to recommend it for anything but there are likely benefits to smoking cigarettes and it may reduce the incidence of some kinds of cancer. In addition the amount you drink makes a difference. If you drink a lot it won't be good for your heart or anything as you will end up dying from it. But in this instance they are saying one drink a day will increase your risk of cancer. The question is does one drink a day have health benefits that override the risk of cancer? I think health professionals were looking for a reason to recommend people don't drink because it's often difficult for people to drink a limited amount.

Uhmm...appointing an alcoholic national guardsman to head the department of defense is moronic. To quote Trump's first Secretary of State upon departure: Trump is a moron.

Trumps appointees is the beginning of his coup. He is going to put people who aren't the best for the USA but are good for him personally. Eventually he will control all aspects of the government. He will control the military and may use it to take over as permanent leader or he might create an election with a rigged system to assure he wins and have a vote to allow him to run again (with a rigged election) because he will control the elections. If the republicans stop him which so far they haven't he may work to get us into world war three where the elections will be suspended and then use the military to stay on as the leader. Trump's not too bright but he has fooled an incredible amount of people.
