I saw that Kapolei just posted the job opening for the head coaching position, so I'm guessing it's not filled yet. I also heard the rumors that Mililani coaching staff is stepping down. Not sure if it's official yet though. Not sure about Baldwin, but last I heard from Lahaina was that coach Zane was moving to the Big Island, so it sounds like they may need a new coach as well. I also heard that Leilehua's boys coaches are no longer there, but coach Corbett is still leading the program. Does he take over the boys team or do they hire somebody else?

As for predictions, it's gotta be Kamehameha as the frontrunners, although I did hear random rumors that Cole Kusumoto and Dylan Landford might not wrestle this year. Any truth to those? Without those 2 returning state placers, there may be a chink in their armor. I don't think St. Louis will be as strong this year as they were last year. Sure, Hunter Berger and Eli Suan are returning, but McCreadie is now at Kaiser, from what I've heard. Not sure who else on their team is that strong. Moanalua will be tough again with 5 returning placers: 106 (Murillo), 113 (Tanaka), 132 (Wang), 138 (Taam), and 215 (Kaumavae). Mililani could be tough with 106 (Loughlin), 113 (Guevara returning to action), 138 (Shigemoto), but it could depend on that coaching staff situation. Kalani has a couple placers returning with 106 (Hotema) and 126 (Torres). Pearl City has Bicoy (113) returning as well as a strong incoming class of freshmen. One intriguing team to keep an eye on is Castle with 2 returning state champs: Kalaukoa (106) and Goeas (157) and I don't think they really graduated any of their starters from last year.

Heard from a reliable source 3 Mililani coaches stepped down including the head coaches. Some kind of drama with a clique of parents from a certain club is what im gathering. Idk who wants to take over under those circumstances but best of luck.

What’s your guys way to early P4P Rankings? I’ll be listing only 5 but feel free to drop yours down too (personal bias involved)
1. Keegan Goes(CSTL, 175,Sr)- realistically no one is beating him, he looks pretty massive so i’m thinking he lands in at 175 but what do you guys think?
T2.Tyger Taam(MOA,144,Sr)- One of the most technical guys but going up to 144 to play off for the 4x makes me tie him with mikah but I see him having the techniqal edge
T2(3). Mikah Labuanan(KSM,144,Sr)- Pure mayhem, interested to see how him and tyger play at officials if it does happen if one will dodge the other but mikah to me seems to have the physical edge and that IT factor that’ll be a extreme diff match for tyger.
4.Hunter Berger(STL,138,Jr)- Also an extreme technician don’t see him losing anytime soon going for his 3rd title, I know the weight may seem like a bit of a big jump but i think he ends up there or 132 since his club(Golden Backs) likes them to all not be in the same weight class
5. Analu Woode(NAN,106-120,Fr) It’s odd to put a freshman into 5 but he’s the real deal with placing 5th at fargo, beating previous state placers interested where hydrations put him but no doubt to me he wins a title this year but counterpoint is that the wins we’re in freestyle so should see how the upcoming weeks of folk will say

I like your list to start off the conversation. Couple notes: Keegan wrestled 157 at Fargo, and from what I've heard, he doesn't cut a LOT of weight. I'm almost certain he'll be at 165 this year. But regardless, I don't see anyone beating him either. I really wonder if Tyger and Mikah will go the same weight as each other. Seeing as how they both went to Fargo together, I'd imagine there's some friendly conversation between them in terms of weight classes. I could see Hunter at either 132 or 138 (went 126 at Fargo). But again, he'll be fine at either one. As you already mentioned, it's a tough sell to put a freshman into the P4P list before ever wrestling a high school match. I remember years ago advocating for freshman Mason Stefanelli to be in the P4P top 10 list all season, and he didn't end up making the list at all until after winning the state title. Analu is the real deal, but I'd love to see him wrestle some of the top guys at 113 or 120 first. I don't think he makes hydration for 106, but could definitely make 113. That being said, I'm not sure who else you would insert into the list. I could see someone like Paliku Chang making the list at some point this season (Paliku beat Analu in greco earlier this summer).

I heard that the husband and wife duo from Leilehua who coached the boys team to zero state placers last season has jumped ship to Mililani who had possibly the most state placers in the oia. Should be interesting to see how they do with an established team of state placers and finalists. Curious why they left leilehua.

Taam and Labuanan will never wrestle eachother. Thats my bet.

Hopefully they can come in and let the team do their thing and not come with that dojo mentality of doing it only their way. Were back to wrestling! Here are some thoughts and major results from the Leilehua Scramble.
- Bj Vs Colt: final score 7-4 But very bad reffing messed the match up for them, 3 Back points were given off a flip flop no swipe that probably should've sent the match to OT, Throughout Neutral in the match they were pretty even as colt had heavy hands and Bj was savvy enough to score
- Keegan v Gavin B: Both true contenders aCorpuznd an extremely close match 5-2 with Keegz winning but also gavin was moving keegan around, Looks like keegs is going 65 and gavin 75 where I see both could win a title
- Ramsey Nishida Vs Gavin B: 2-10, Gavin dominated in neutral where nishida failed to downblock multiple times as buelow got in on the legs and fell behind.
- Jaden Thai V Colt: 7-0 Both look like theyre going 113 but jaden could be the frontrunner even as a freshmen only behind Analu(of course if he could make 113)
- Quincy Corpuz V BJ: Big shocker as Corpuz Majored Bj 13-3 and really put the preassure on throughout the match, Corpuz dominated in neutral and some scary moments did happen at the end of the match, could Corpuz be someone in consideration for 120?
