Re: QB Micah Alejadro commits
Although he is kind of small and listed at 5-10, 170, he's talented. Hopefully he hits a growth spurt in the next year. But it's always a good thing when you get a QB awarded MaxPrep's National Junior Player of the Year and Gatorade's Nevada Player of the Year.

Bishop Gorman get to play in the (new) Raiders stadium? Nice.
So he wants to now play in TC Ching field for the next 5 years?
So far the QB bullpen looks awesome.

Huge win recruiting wise. UH gets a winner who has faced the best everyday at practice and every Friday for games.
Key skills are ball placement, timing and reading his keys to distribute the ball quickly. He'll have to run a little lower and take better angles in college. His height shouldn't be an issue bc he's proven he can win at the highest level a la D Brees.
Can we land a WR or RB from Gorman?

Dual threat with accuracy and touch + Coach Timmy and RNS offense. Future looks bright!

This lefty QB release is pretty quick... he doesn't take long to get the ball out of his hands. That is a big bonus with his nice athleticism.
Re: QB Micah Alejado commits
Fantastic get. He is a playmaker, and looks like he makes reads much like a college QB. Resembles Dillon Gabriel in his films to me, and you gotta love that kind of ability and skill set. He also made me think of Joel Botelho as a lefty with good feet, although Alejado is bigger (but that’s the Castle guy in me).

the kids don't look down on the stadium situation as much as the "fans" do. The kids know that if they compete and win that they won't be judged by the stadium situation. Maybe some big school comes in and lures him away later in the process, but it won't come down to whether or not we have aloha stadium or ching field if he goes elsewhere.cabanalane wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 6:44 am So he wants to now play in TC Ching field for the next 5 years?

Re: QB Micah Alejado commits
I really like that Micah decided to go to the mainland to play for Bishop Gorman and prove he could play with a high level of success at an elite level in H.S. Then decide that he wants to return home to play for the home team.
He gets to experience the mainland, but appreciates and misses Hawaii, family and friends here and returns home to play for Hawaii in college.
There might be something to takeaway from that process with our H.S. blue chip prospects. Maybe we encourage our other Hawaii blue chip players, like Micah, to do the same with our Coaching connections with Bishop Gorman and other elite H.S. programs, then have them boomerang back home, groomed and ready to play for Hawaii with a taste for experiencing the mainland already behind them.
Micah now understands the true meaning of Hawaii no ka oi.
