Domata Peko Jr. ATHLETE (hybrid DE/OLB & TE) from Calabasas HS (Calabasas, CA.); son of former 15-year NFL veteran DL Domata Peko (who played for Michigan State after College of the Canyons from Samoana HS, American Samoa).

Re: DE 6-4, 220 Domata Peko Jr Commits
His dad was recruited hard by UH. Was very sad when he did not sign with us. He was on that 2004 MST team that UH beat. Gald to see his son playing for for UH.
Re: DE 6-4, 220 Domata Peko Jr Commits
I remember that Michigan State game. His dad had flowing, wavy 'ehu hair. If he and his cousin come in as grayshirts, I hope that they stick it out through enrollment time on campus.

Did not sign an LOI. Other's have reported that he, and his father both deleted their Hawaii tweets.

SoCal ATH Domata Peko locks in official visit to San Jose State
By GREG BIGGINS Dec 27
Calabasas (Calif.) edge rusher Domata Peko locked in an official visit to San Jose State.
Peko will visit the Spartans on January 13 before flying out to Hawaii for the Polynesian Bowl. Hawaii is heavily involved here as well and Peko could take a visit immediately after the Poly Bowl, which is January 20.
In fact, Peko actually committed to the Warriors and we expected him to sign during the Early Signing Period. He then backed off his pledge and said he wanted to wait until the late signing period in February to keep his options open.
Re: DE 6-4, 220 Domata Peko Jr Offered
First: Chevan. Second: Kyler. Brent Brennan is getting good at poaching from UH.

The new Mike Riley?
I remember how Domata Peko Sr. turned down UH and went to Michigan State out of JUCO. Thought Isaako Sopoaga, also from College of the Canyons, could convince him to come here. A lot of UH fans were bummed out back then.
Re: DE 6-4, 220 Domata Peko Jr Offered
Picking up a transfer portal player is not poaching. Said player wanted to move on by entering the portal.
Re: DE 6-4, 220 Domata Peko Jr Offered
Simple question. When was the last time that UH signed a transfer portal player from San Jose State, or poached one of their recruits? In any case, UH seriously needs to spend more kala on their athletic facilities and student/athlete programs. Continuing to fall behind against conference foes in the MWC is really not good. At least UH is competitive in the BWC.

Domata Peko Jr., committed to UH the night before signing day but chose to explore the rest of his options ahead of his next opportunity to sign on Feb. 1.
For Domata Peko Jr., Hawaii remains in the running for his services. Since then, he’s earned scholarship offers from San Jose State, Utah Tech and Houston Baptist, as well as walk-on offers from Oregon and Oregon State.
“UH is on the top of my recruitment board for me. I’m gonna make my decision Feb. 1, so I’m excited. UH is definitely one of my top choices because of the culture it comes with and I like where their team’s at, kind of a rebuild state where we can develop over the next couple of years there and also having my cousin there, too, it helps a lot with the recruitment,” Peko Jr. said. “Also just being close to Samoa and learning stuff like that, it helps a lot.”
