I don't get this one. Navy runs the Option. I assume he just wants to be on a team. Did Coach Kenny point him this way?
Highlights look good, they all do. So he can throw too.

Did he graduate from Naval Academy ? If so, then doesn't he have like a 6 year service commitment.

Perhaps he will be a RB?

Interested to hear his story. In any case, welcome to the Warrior Ohana!

Could be....but he was strictly going through QB drills at the January walk-on tryouts with Timmy & Shoe....and didn't go through the RB drills (with the handful of RB hopefuls) with Misipeka.

Maybe they need throwers for spring camp.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

June Jones at times had 6-7 QBs on the roster. I’m guessing Coach Chang will carry the same.

Re: Navy transfer QB Dalen Morris walk-on addition to Spring roster
Dalen Morris was not your typical Navy option QB. In high school he was a good throwing QB, who could run. Although he ran some read option (which I'm assuming Navy thought would translate to their offense), he was not a run first type QB. Looking at the limited Navy video highlights available, his biggest plays were pass plays.
He apparently is in grad school here while serving in the Navy and might have permission to play football.

Granted we often think only need a legit two or three cause that way they feel good and get chance to play. Even going back to Rolo days, it was hard to find outside of QB1A and QB1B. (Ok, Chow struggled with who is QB1 period.)bigislandkurt wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 1:56 am June Jones at times had 6-7 QBs on the roster. I’m guessing Coach Chang will carry the same.
I guess the SF 49ers reminded everyone again, that you need more QBs as they are one hit away from being out.
And half of them will probably hit the transfer portal after one year, cause no chance.

I remember when SWA - Shawn Witty-Allen was one of those numerous QB's in the orange jersey. Eventually, he played and played well. In this day and age, QB 1, 1A, 2, 2A all gotta be ready to go.

His Commanding Officer would have to be a real punk to change his duty station in August.
