Vaifanua Peko, also will sign with the Warriors. Vaifanua is a 6-2, 210-pound linebacker from Samoana High in American Samoa.
Vaifanua Peko is a safety and linebacker hybrid out of Samoana High School in American Samoa and signed his letter of intent with Hawaii during last December’s signing day.
When Peko makes it to campus, he’ll have familiarity with some players on the roster from American Samoa, listing defensive lineman Dean Briski as one of his friends.
Peko hopes his cousin will be one of the players he enters the program with. He’s certainly been persistent about it.
“I’ve tried so many times, but that’s up to him,” Peko said. “I’ll be so happy if he comes to join me at UH.”
In HS he played S, LB, WR and KR and looked to have a frame that could pack on muscle. Being listed as a DL, I'm assuming he is being slotted at DE. I wonder if he got bigger during his greyshirt year than he is listed at.kapakahi wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:51 pm Listed as DL at 6-3, 220# on the 2024 Spring Ball roster....
