Nice list, I'm not sure Seson will get past Shigemoto at 126 though. I think Durand will get 2nd at 160. He seems like a more rounded wrestler than the rest. At 113 I think it's Estabillio(MOA) and Kamakaala(KAH) at the top.hiwrestlefan808 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 9:49 am OIA Seeding/Placers

Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
Seson, Shigemoto, and Shimabukuro will all be close with each other for sure. At 160, I think Lee is definitely the top dog, but Durand vs Tanaka will be a good semi (if it plays out that way). You hit 113 on the head. Both of those guys are above the west I think.talloola25 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 11:38 am

Other weights that should be fun: 106, I think Ramos-Semana is definitely the guy, but those guys between 2nd-5th have been close matches all year. 132, again, I think Kimura is the guy there, but 2nd thru like 6th are all relatively close.

Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
Aside from the top dogs at each weight, the rest of the field looks pretty weak. I'm not sure how the state can continue to allow the ILH to have 4 entries into the state tournament after looking at this data. There needs to be a more equitable way to determine league participation. They need to adopt something similar to the college national tournament selection style.talloola25 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 11:26 am ILH Qualifiers 1-4 in order:

The big surprise though is that Kailer Lee didn't qualify for the state tournament. That is one weight where at large bids would be beneficial.

Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
True, but the top 2/4 are guaranteed to be in the tournament and opposite sides of each other. In the OIA 2/8 are.... So they will have a higher chance of success since a lot of the 3s get in as wellFlyingSquirrel808 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 1:58 pmAside from the top dogs at each weight, the rest of the field looks pretty weak. Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
Any thoughts on the OIA Tournament? I wasn't able to attend, but it looks like there were some interesting matches. Taam v Paaluhi and Shimabukuro v Shigemto looks like they were probably entertaining.
Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
Yes two very entertaining matches. Also to note was Mayham taking 5th, and 285 with Waipahu on top. Kapolei didn’t win with as much of a commanding lead as expected as well. Moanalua seemed to be right on their tail for team scores. 106 PC seemed to be a tougher match for Kapolei than expected as welltalloola25 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 12:50 pm Any thoughts on the OIA Tournament? Re: 2022-2023 Wrestling Season
It’s a bummer we didn’t get to see paguryan and shields wrestle in the finals as well.
