Again, I wasn't able to watch the game. There are no replays or highlights as yet. I was watching the live-cast thingy and saw that Hawaii called a time-out with 2min to go in the half. We went 3 and out...and somehow the Aztecs score a FG and go up 3-0 at the half. We lose by 2 points after scoring 2 TD's in the second half.

I originally predicted the spread to be -8. I think we are not as bad as the critics believe.

I was at work and listened to the game on the radio, and that was the worst broadcast ever. There was so much background noise I couldn't here the play-by-play. The first half the D held SDST to 123 yards. The second half the D gave up nearly 300 yards. For the game SDST held the ball for nearly 36 minutes and UH 24 with only 11 minutes of TOP in the second half. Sure the D did great in the early going (lights out D), applause applause but after halftime reverted back to their old selves again. Here's the SDST QB, a converted S, with little experience at QB throw for 322 yards and completing 66% of his passes. Yet the Hawaii fans are raving at how well the D played. Not me, it was frustrating to hear. Time and time again I'm hearing JV describe how the SDST receivers are wide open. Is that good D? To the poster that wrote that UHs D will make the SDST QB a Heisman contender-right on.Then to top everything off, two kickoffs that went out of bounds, the first resulted in a SDST TD, the second resulted in SDST kicking the game winning FG. Talk about stupidity, especially when the coach has a kicker that can kick the ball out of the end zone. 8 of BS passes were behind the line of scrimmage netting 23 yards. GS Louis how creative is the OC. He had 1 good pass of 66 yards applause applause but reverted back to his old self again missing quite a few short passes. It will be interesting to hear Chang spin this game. I'm not.

Don't know how anyone can say that the D played well considering that they gave up 3 yards passing to a converted S that hasn't had any practice at QB this year. Basically, he's their 4th string QB. Their halftime adjustments worked while ours didn't seem to do anything. Seems like we get outcoached on a regular basis.

I seriously had to get off of all media last night. To say that was a heartbreaker would have been the understatement of the year. I’m sure it was a hard postgame and flight home. I’m on the same vibe with many of you- the defense had a better showing, but they did NOT show up on some very crucial plays. Especially on some extremely crucial third downs. I give it to them that they for the most part had one of their better showings. But let’s not get too drunk on rose flavored kool aid. Our defense played hard, they were spirited and played the best they did all year against the run. But in the end, defense kept us in the game, but they also lost the game. They allowed a 4th string QB…former safety, and a week-old offensive coordinator to look like they were all-MWC. I would not be surprised if that QB makes player of the week. Kinda shame. So yes, our defense played better, but they still far from we being able to lean on them to bring us a victory. Keep working boys.

And that kick out of bounds? That just robbed us of any good energy or momentum we had just captured. “Typical UH ****” my friends called it. It deflated us. I’m still annoyed at how it all went down. But like the team, I gotta move on.

Another headscratcher. I think it was in the first quarter UH has the ball 4th and 3 at midfield and Chang elects to go for it. The offense stays on the field only to burn a timeout and bring on the punt team. It made sense to maybe draw the D offside or even to take a risk. But why burn a timeout needlessly-TAKE THE 5 yard PENALTY DONKEY. You see well coached teams do it all the time, where the 5 yard penalty allows the punter a better chance of pinning the opponent inside the 20. But no, not Chang. 100% I've seen a Rolovich coach team in similar situations take the 5 yard penalty or have CC punt the ball. Another headscratcher. UH has the ball at its own 22 yard line with 34 seconds left in the first half and Chang elects to take a knee and run out the clock. 34 seconds GS Louis you can run 4 offensive plays (and if Chang didn't burn the timeout earlier on that fake punt he might even had a chance to squeeze in 5 offensive plays) and make an attempt/effort of gaining 40-45 yards and get into field goal range for Ship. That's not doable? But no. Why is Chang conservative here? The offensive hasn't turned the ball over in two prior road games+the offensive line allowed no sacks during the game+the offense would have SDST in prevent defense+he has a good FG with a strong leg but Chang is narrowminded to see that. 100% Jones would have tried to get into FG range because as you can see every point counts.

I think it was unexpected that the play would go all the way, for a TD.

I know it would have been un-natural. Could he have down it as the 0.5 yard line, just to run out the time? It would be 1st and10 and get 4 chances to power it in.

No guarantee, but at least it would be at UH's control.

Tough loss but the Warriors played hard. Still need to fix some things but they did play better. You want to see a player who gives it his all on every play look no further than Blessman.

I didn't watch but listened and the last minutes of the 2nd and 4th Qtr was like WTH moments.

Cannot keep blaming the transfer portal, Coach Graham, AD Matlin, President Lasiner, Governor Ige, President Biden, or ET.

I support Timmy but feel we may need more experience in some of the coaching positions

Regarding SDST gamewinning FG, I see in the picture #90 and #55 with valiant efforts at trying to block the FG attempt. For a couple of heavyweights that was impressive athleticism and heart as they jumped off the ground the best they could. But wouldn't you want a specialist in there at trying to block the FG attempt. Someone tall, like a basketball player-WR Perry, 6'6", who probably can touch easily a foot over the rim.Wouldnt he be the ideal candidate here?
Remember when Jones was coaching he had Akman in there, and later at SMU he had that javelin thrower that blocked quite a few kicks. But no. There's nothinking out of the box here with Chang.🤮

Close, but no cigar. And close only wins in a game of hand grenades. A much better effort, few stupid mistakes but the botched pooch kick and pass interference at the end of the game really hurt bigly.

Onward to the Nevada game.

This game started at 0530 Sunday morning for me, and I was right there watching it. Could of, would of, should of, Hawaii should have won the game. Hawaii is getting better but the road to where they want to be is a long one. Hawaii has a chance with Nevada, well, they have a chance every game! And for this game I will be relegated you Youtube highlights as is normal for games at lower campus.

Which positions do think we need more experienced coaches? I haven’t watched any practices but think because we are so thin at that position, receivers?
