FIELD GOAL? The announcers are questioning UH's logic.

Agreed. Announcers pointing out the horrible clock management on the goal-line, under three minutes left, and UH letting 20+ seconds run off before calling time out.

I think UH let the clock go because they knew they were physically beat after the first half. NMSU ran the ball at will in the first half and were in cruise mode in the second.

As bad as this season has gone, it could be worse. We could be Colorado.

I listened to the pregame show on the radio and JV described how the team as having its best practice of the season on Friday. His words the team looks really crisp and that Chang was going to get more involved in the offense. As a listener I'm impressed, and after the Warriors scored on their first possession I'm thinking JV's spot on. Then before I know it the Warriors are down 21-7 to a team that averaged 8 points a game on offense and allowed 36 points a game on defense. I listened thru the second quarter and kept hearing how the defense had so many mistackles and QB overthrowing the receivers and could only shake my head. This is very upsetting.

I gotta give Coach TC credit for his game time decision making. He went for the points on fourth down at the right times and he went for the TD in the end when they had 4 downs to go 1 yard. Even though it didn't make any difference in the score, it was a moral victory. But why it took four downs to go one is something they need to look at.

Maybe coaches need to realize that player no can change so that coach needs to make a change?
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

Aside from the game, I "didn't like" they commentary in the 2nd half questioning some of the decision of not trying to go for it, to win the game.sarvicdar wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 10:22 pm I listened to the pregame show on the radio and JV described how the team as having its best practice of the season on Friday. I get it, the decision/plays were not enough to get up field, when you are 2-3 scores behind.
But UH is NOT that team. No can. We don't have GOAT 15, Bryant Moniz, or even Greg Tipton. And Coach T-Chang is not eligible to play.
What they did instead of just to keep the drive alive. In that sad way, that's "winning" for UH now. Can they march down the field? That's where we are now IMO.
UH won one game. But I think the offense will be more in sync maybe in the 7-8 game.
Note, I didn't say win. I said more in sync.

Well maybe know I don't feel that bad as NMSt beat Liberty and may be Bowl Bound
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... ances/amp/New Mexico State is also 5-6 after a 49-14 demolition of Liberty. The Aggies also had a game postponed against San Jose State on Nov. 5, but it will not be made up. Instead, New Mexico State is hoping to schedule a game against an FCS school this week, However, the Aggies already have a win over an FCS school and teams can only count one such win towards the six needed for bowl eligibility. To qualify, New Mexico State will need waivers from the NCAA to allow its opponent to play an extra game and to allow the Aggies to count that one toward bowl eligibility. Of course, they must also win the game.
