Hats off to Waipahu for adjusting. Kapa’a came to the game with only two plays in their playbook.

That and inserting Uiliata at Qb. Kid is dynamic.

Kahuku already leads Campbell 17-0 near halftime. I thought the game would be much closer, but Kahuku seems to have done their homework and smothered Campbell's passing game. This game also might not require them to change much of their defensive scheme from their previous game against another pass-heavy team--Mililani.

The early stages of this game also remind me of our two previous championship games against them, where they either scored or gained massive yards through deceptive plays or caused turnovers that crippled us.

Campbell has played a more than admirable game defensively. They just can't get anything going on offense.

I don't think McMillan is playing tonight.

Well that's good news for Punahou. On the other hand Tarape is a very capable QB. You gotta give Mililani +6 for homefield advantage. Now its raining.

Rain favors us, since we can run the ball much better than Mililani.

I hope Punahou only throws the deep ball when that's the only thing the defense gives them. Why not just run or dink and dunk?

As powerful as Punahou's returning talent will be, man will we miss Travis Ross, Giancarlo Rufo, Alika Cavaco-Amoy, and JK.

Throwing the deep ball is killing us. It almost resulted in another turnover. It ain't like our other offensive options haven't worked so far.

Mililani's defense playing solid football tonight. Hard to believe they couldn't stop anything when McKenzie Milton was a senior.

I hope Punahou expects Kahuku to sometimes run the same play Mililani ran to give them their 2nd touchdown and huge yardage a possession later.

The two winners of the Open games struggled at times, with Kahuku putting together an underwhelming offensive performance while our 3rd quarter tonight might've been our worst defensive quarter of the season. But the two most complete teams in the state will meet. Very proud of Alai Williams, who's always reminded me of Derrick Henry.

As daunting as Kahuku looks, we've proven we can stay with them and are capable of beating them. No matter what ignorant hypocrites like OldManJenkins say.

Yes, Mililani lost by four touchdowns but did play better than I thought they would, especially with Tarape. Something must've changed with him between the OIA championship and tonight's game. Tarape looked shell-shocked against Kahuku but didn't flinch tonight.
