I'd like to know why some many LB recruits? Switching to 3-4 base or are some guys going to fill out to be DE types?He's #12 , seems like choke LBs.

This kid looks more like SS type vs LB, right?

There are some big time LBs in the '22 class. I assume Ho'ohuli is penciled in at 1 backer spot as os Pene. Does Kaulana move back to OLB?

Ho'ohuli played exclusively at the hybrid DE/OLB position throughout Spring Ball.

1st team LBs were Penei & Tufaga (both seniors), while 2nd team LBs were Blanks & Kema (both JC transfers).

Just guessing that Kaulana Makaula probably is slated to play hybrid OLB/SS or SS/FS.

Due to limited depth at the DT position (since lost Kapoi, Laulu, Matthews, McKinney, Tavai & Tonga from last season), the defensive alignment during Spring Ball was almost exclusively either a 4-2 or 4-3. With incoming additional new DTs (Falo, Finau, Moala, etc.) this Fall, wouldn't be surprised to see some situational 3-4 fronts employed.

The 4-2 and 4-3 are not the traditional 4 man fronts with 4 D-linemen in a 3 or 4 point stance. Many times the DEs are hybrid DE/LB standing up while other times they might be a down lineman.
