Why wasn’t there a Model of the new stadium at the Leg and debate as to whether $300 million would be granted for that?
We got to pay back the bonds. Why no f’n oversight? I have to conclude that we have completely incompetent legislature along with idiot for a Governor. Ching was always going to be a temporary solution. What's in the plans now for Ching next year is obviously a temporary stadium. Bottom line is Ching needs to be expanded before start of next season. I mean, there obviously was a plan until it was torpedoed by Ige. Correct, the ship has left. With interest rates climbing, what are we going to get for our bonds? We had years in a nominal rate environment to float these. So we don’t even have a plan?
UH is a state entity. So unless UH is given full autonomy with regards to developing and building New Aloha Stadium, there still will be red tape and bureaucracy. My concern is can UH pull of a project of this scale. The last sports related project of comparable scale was Stan Sheriff Center almost three decades ago. Other than that is the Warrior Rec Center. they way they've been putting up new large buildings and projects all around the campus at a reasonably fast clip for the past decade gives me some hope. a much better track record than the eternal unending delays on some of those state & c&c projects you hear about in the news.
