I just know what my friend on the track team told me that they were told that they were gonna let the track and field season finish before starting work.

Re: New Aloha Stadium & TC Ching Expansion
How many more seats will TC Ching need to have to comply with the D1 "requirements?" Just expand/fix up Ching and call it done. Work seems to happen rather quickly over there. Maybe Ching family and UH can work together better than the Stadium Authority?
To be honest, do we expect 30K+ to attend UH football games? We can point to the old days, but I don't think interest in football is like the old days, and I don't think it has to do with W vs L.
It would suck to spend $XXX million and then attendance is 14,973 to watch Small Boy Chang as the UH quarterback, after the excitement of a new building dies down.

Work happening quickly cause all it is metal bleachers. Not really difficult to build.cabanalane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 4:46 am How many more seats will TC Ching need to have to comply with the D1 "requirements?" Hate to say this but if we think small we will always be small. While we at it let's shut down the entire athletic program. Cause they're not surviving at the Division 1 level without the football program. Staying at Ching permanently is a death sentence.
New Aloha Stadium is more than just UH football its for concerts, graduations, high school football games and other events.

Nice to see the progress on the video board at TC Ching.
