Since we've just started the high school baseball season, I'm wondering who you all think are the top MLB prospects in the state this year? Any ideas? Are there many, any, none?
I saw a few this past weekend during the MIL Preseason tournament on Maui at "Iron" Maehara Stadium.
Participants were:
Baldwin St. Louis
Maui Punahou
Lahainaluna Iolani
Kamehameha Maui Maryknoll
King Kekaulike
This tournament was loaded with some outstanding players!

Oh, wait. I found Arquette plays SS, too. Then there's Contrades, also a pitcher. I don't know for sure how good he is, though. Kamehameha might have some good pitchers; the Mililani HC says Kamehameha has the best pitching staff in the state. But, I still think St Louis is the favorite for States, unfortunately. (I'd rather see Kamehameha take it, as I like that school.)

I know he is listed on their roster as ss/p but does he actually pitches. All the games I've watched of St. Louis play on TV since last year, I don't recall him pitching in any of them.HS Football Fanatic wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 7:15 am @SM96753:

I think St Louis has a really good pitcher in Contrades, but he hurt his arm the 1st inning against Kamehameha.

Last years SLH grad and current California catcher Caleb Lomavita. Last summer MLB paid for Lomavita to attend their Combine even after Lomavita already committed to California. Reports were that Lomavita was impressive.
Lomavita currently has 5 homers in about 19 games as a starting catcher for California. I don't know if California will be utilizing Lomavita as a pitcher.
This year SLH not only misses Lomavita's catching skills and bat but also Lomavita's pitching. Lomavita was also SLH best pitcher with a 4-0 record.

Well, I think Nuu Contrades might be St Louis' best pitcher this year, but he injured his throwing arm. Don't know if he's healed yet.
