6-4, 210 and appears very athletic. Looks like he played primarily in the secondary at Tafuna HS.

Will probably eventually bulk up to 240+ after he gets to UH.uhwarriors wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:36 am

Good to see the recruiting pipeline with American Samoa continue!

Definitely a OLB, DE type...let's see if he gets into the plate lunches..turns into MLB...seems to have strong hands for being a skinny guy bc he gets rid of ppl easily and tosses runners to the ground.
I really liked Miami's Defebsive philosophy in the 80s - recruit safeties to play LB, LB to play end and ends to play DT, that way you have better than usual speed at all levels.

That also was Macs philosophy when he first came here. He wanted more speed.Palolo_2LA wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:52 pm Definitely a OLB, DE type...let's see if he gets into the plate lunches..turns into MLB...seems to have strong hands for being a skinny guy bc he gets rid of ppl easily and tosses runners to the ground.

I've seen few players recruited at safety who had next-level speed and ended up filling out and eventually inched their way closer to the LOS. I think if Laga can play multiple positions, he might be a good utility player while he fills out and the staff can find the right spot for him. He looks good, though. Feed him and hit the weights and this kid could be a beast on the edge with his length.

None of our recruits at safety have next level speed. My point is the elite teams have tweaniers move to a closer to the box all the time.Shoko wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 4:40 am I've seen few players recruited at safety who had next-level speed and ended up filling out and eventually inched their way closer to the LOS. Team speed on D has always been an issue an UH. That's why we have issues with containing the edge, covering speedy WRs, etc.

Looking forward to seeing him and Briski grow and develop under the new defensive schemes. Miss those days of UH having those taller DE causing havoc in the back field
