Did QB1 and QB2 show any decent footwork? I'm guessing QB's were not to be touched in the scrimmage, but rest assured, defenses will pin their ears back and attack once the season rolls around. Gonna need a QB who can make the throws and run the offense...but also be able to check down, escape and pick up some yardage with his feet. Bryant Moniz was one of the best at doing this. Chevan was pretty good too.

Glad to see Farrell doing well. How long has he been here? This is his 3rd HC change?
Did Cooper get on the field? That's Rolo's boy from Wash.
Schager and Farrell appear to be 1 and 2 and made a number of good throws off of good mechanics. Both are pocket passers with some mobility, but neither is a dual threat QB and a running threat like Cordeiro or Moniz. Cordeiro could scramble for 30 yards or reverse pivot out of the pocket and make a big pass play. Don't expect to see Schager or Farrell escaping out of the pocket and moving the sticks with their legs much. Also I think Shoemaker would like to have some read option, designed QB runs, designed rollouts, bootlegs, etc. But Schager or Farrell are not suited for these types of plays. Neither Schager nor Farrell are "twitchy" and they are not exceptionally quick with their reads like Cordeiro or Moniz. So Shoemaker and TC will have to figure out a way to work around their limitations and to their strengths.bigislandkurt wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 11:50 am Did QB1 and QB2 show any decent footwork? Farrell was brought in by TG.
Cooper did play, but didn't do anything memorable. Unofficial stats had him at 3-10 for 15 yards. BTW, he was recruited to WSU by Leach and never got higher than 3rd or 4th on the depth chart under Leach or Rolo.
