Now that Timmy has been named head coach, and based on conditions brought up in the past few days, here are my revised picks for the new coaching staff.
The Offensive coaches all have the June Jones RNS DNA.
Four of the defensive coaches (Banker, York, Santa Cruz & McCloud) have the Bob Wagner DNA. Coach Abe played with Timmy, Yoro went to St Louis with Timmy (2 years older)
Timmy Chang Head Coach
Brian Smith - OC/RB
Dan Morrison - QB
John Estes - Oline
Chad Owens - WR/ST
Mark Banker - Associate HC/DC
Rod York - DT
Victor Santa Cruz - DE
Jacob Yoro - LB
Kim McCloud - Safeties
Abraham Elimimian - CB
How bout the unkos from the Lou? Ron and Cal are still playing winning FB....my only request I no Miano bc he comes off like his on something half the time. JJ as OC?
Does TC need sign off by Matlin on his assistants?
Brah those McAttack defenses were the best. To bad he got canceled before being canceled was a thing.
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.
I would like coaches that will bring immediate recruiting value. Can Chris Brown bring some Bishop Gorman players with him? Who can give us quick access to Kahuku? Would Rod York want to join the staff and bring Mililani's best with him?
Other than that, I'm fine with all the holdover defensive coaches sticking around if they want to be here. if Batoon came back as DC I'd be alright with that as well.
We'll learn a lot about Chang through his hires. Does he have a list of guys he wants? Is he going to depend on incoming applications? I am curious to see what happens next.
Abe - DB
Morrison - QB, OC
McKnight - OL, Special Teams
Mark Banker - DC
Jeff Reinbold - DL
Rod York - LB
Fill in rest with young coaches who can recruit.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.
Timmy will get support from his St Louis Brotherhood and Warrior Braddahhood
Banker is respected at Kahuku and around the nation. He was the guy who recruited many Kahuku guys to Oregon St. Also the coaches and families in Samoa love him. He was the key guy I'm getting Darius Muasau and Calvin Turner.
Rod York played on the UH team when Banker was Herr.
Abe still has the connections to Long Beach Poly, Crenshaw and SoCal.
McCloud been coaching all around from Nevada, Texas, Ohio, New York.
Cougars coach Jake Dickert announced several developments to the program’s staff Tuesday, Jan. 11, confirming that veteran nickels/safeties coach Mark Banker has decided to depart the Pullman school while edges coach A.J. Cooper and secondary assistant Jordan Malone will stick around.
Banker, a journeyman coach who has worked in the football business since 1979, turned down a contract offer to remain at WSU because of “personal reasons,” according to Dickert.
“He’s a valued member of this team and this organization,” Dickert said. “Mark has been a mentor of mine, someone I’ve relied on the last couple of years. He’s done an amazing job and he’ll always be welcome at our program, but I think there’s a lot of sunshine and golf in his future – he’s been in this game for 40-plus years.”
The 66-year-old followed former boss Nick Rolovich to WSU in early 2020 after a two-year stint as associate head coach/inside linebackers coach at Hawaii.
Banker, a key holdover for WSU following Rolovich’s dismissal in mid-October, helped transform the Cougars’ secondary into a proficient unit this season.
Considering the resume, it’s no surprise that Dickert asked Banker to stay aboard. His wealth of experience is highlighted by defensive-coordinator jobs at Oregon State (2003-14), Nebraska (2015-16) and in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers (1999-2001).

Smitty got California and Washington
Santa Cruz got California
Yoro got Hawaii
Banker also recruited Dae Dae Hunter from AZ.
Abe has connections all throughout LA County....primarily in the southern half (from East LA down through South Central, West LA & the South Bay through Long Beach)....but also in parts of NorCal and Texas.
In SoCal, Smitty has connections in the northern half of LA County along with Ventura County, the OC and the IE (Riverside & San Bernardino Counties).
In SoCal, Yoro has connections in the OC and the IE (Riverside & San Bernardino Counties). Yoro also has connections in American Samoa.

Would like to see Kody Cooke get serious consideration to be retained on-staff as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. His relationship with the players is one of mutual respect.
Keep all the same staff if they want to stay. Dare I say, including Bo Graham. TC as a newbie is given more leniency I think. No one expect MW Champ next year. Once he figure things out, then make the changes. Stability is more important then ripping apart the staff.

I've included multiple possibilities for most of the assistant slots. In cases where a coach has background at multiple positions, so I've listed them in all spots. Special teams is conundrum for me and I included guys that should be on the staff somewhere even though it doesn't appear that they have ST backgrounds.
I realize there are only 10 assistants allowed. We don't know if TC will be the OC. If he is, he'll need to fill the QB and RB slots. If he isn't, it's a question as to how he fills the OC, QB and RB slots. The same coach can fill two of the slots. Thus I've designated 11 positions.
I think Mark Banker has retired. But I'd take Mark Banker in any capacity on the defensive side if he still wants to coach. He along with Morrison and/or Suan would add a lot of experience that TC could draw from.
For those unaware of Anthony Arceneaux's background, he's a St. Louis HS WR that played at Utah. He coached ST and Receivers at Southern Utah for 5 years, Receivers at UC Davis for 1 year and just got the WR job with Nevada.
OC Craig Stutzmann, Dan Morrison or Brian Smith
QB Stutzmann, Morrison
RB Smith, Wes Suan
WR Anthony Arceneaux, Jeremiah Cockeran, Kim McCloud
OL John Estes
DC Mark Banker, Corey Batoon
DL Ricky Logo, Rod York, Banker
LB Solomon Eliminian, Jacob Yoro, Banker
CB Abe Eliminian
S Yoro, McCloud, Richard Torres, Banker
ST Arceneaux, Yoro, McCloud, Torres, Banker
