Holy crap: Kalani is up over Punahou, 2-0, at the half. This is in the D1 State boys' soccer tourney. Punahou is ranked #2, Kalani is ranked #6.

Punahou has now tied Kalani, 2-2. We'll see if the match goes to OT.

Holy crap! Kalani beat Punahou on PKs, 3-2. That's an upset, for sure.
@ChadFukuoka:
Bad news: In the same tourney, Hilo beat Aiea, 2-1. Doo-doo happens. Well, that wasn't an upset, but losing still sucks.
Wrestling guys, sorry I hijacked your thread, for soccer. I was so shocked that Kalani had taken a 2-0 lead on Punahou, I just had to post.

I think he's just saying it's sad that there isn't more interest in wrestling, since this is the state championship weekend.808WrestlingFan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 10:00 pmUh oh. What happened?OldManJenkins wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 9:29 pm Wow this is quiet with States going on!!!

Re: 2021-2022 Wrestling Season
There was something far more serious that happened prior to the start of the tournament. Hopefully everyone around the situation is doing better.
Updates?
Team race - Boys: Moanalua, Kamehameha, St. Louis, Baldwin, Punahou, Kapolei
Girls: Moanalua, Kamehameha, Lahainaluna, Mililani, Baldwin, Hilo
Upsets/Interesting results:
126 - Labuanan over Kim
138 - Rapoza over Kaaialii and Aina, Simmons over Clarion, Borce v McBrayer was awesome
145 - Mercado over Kim-Cadiz
160 - Coronil over Cababag
182 - Keo over Opetaia
Semis look like they are going to be fun and some coni-quarters as well.

I'm so sorry for my previous post. I had no idea there was a tragic and unfortunate death before the tournament. I didn't realize the context of the situation. Again, I apologize.

No reason to apologize. You had no idea. Your post was spot on. I guess those who enjoy wrestling are just trying to enjoy it instead of talk about it. Totally understand. Some great matches yesterday and more to come today!ChadFukuoka wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 12:30 am I'm so sorry for my previous post. So, Moanalua is in 1st place for boys and girls at the moment? Wow. I guess that school is really making its mark in wrestling.

Re: 2021-2022 Wrestling Season
Since soccer has been mentioned, congrats to Kamehameha Hawaii on winning the D2 title. Congrats to King Kekaulike on winning the D1 title. Also, great seasons by Seabury Hall, and Hilo, finishing state runners up isn't too bad.
I just found out King Kekaulike has the same nickname as my alma mater, Aiea, they are both Na Alii.

@ChadFukuoka:
Yes, that's true: The nickname of both schools is, "Na Alii". You're a generous spirit, to congratulate schools none of which are your alma mater. Since this is a wrestling thread, I thought I'd mention that I'm a little annoyed and resentful that Moanalua swept the boys' and girls' State wrestling titles. While I'm at it, I guess I should mention that I'm equally annoyed and resentful that Punahou swept the boys', girls', and mixed State paddling titles. I'm wondering if anyone else (besides alumni of those two schools, of course) is feeling the same way right now. It's been sticking in my craw ever since I read about it in the paper this morning. I'm glad that Scoringlive had nothing about those two sports; I would have hated to have to read about it there, too. Wrestling guys: It's not that I don't want to read about wrestling on Scoringlive; it's that I don't want to read about how the same school swept both titles.
