College football is still about money.

1. Conferences and teams don't want to travel there. To expensive.
2. Time zone travel issues.
3. Like Hawaii geographically undesirable.Who wants to go to Boise?
4. Low academic standards. Not a prestigious institution.
5. Small TV market.
6. Small stadium capacity.
7. Less revenue to visiting teams.

The only team that would benefit in a conference that Boise joins would be Boise. The net effect is every team in the conference would incur more expense and have to share more of their revenue.
You forgot one more point.

8. that %()&^(()%%() blue field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Harsin wants the Big Time, he needs to pursue the Arizona job. And take his BSU staff with him.

I gotta believe that Brennan is the top candidate for the job.

When BYU left the WAC to go to the MWC, it left UH behind. I don't know, hard to judge now, but did it allow Hawaii to get better? Float to top of the food chain?

BYU left MWC to become independent. I get it. The $$$. Anyhow, Hawaii then join the MWC. Ok, ok, WAC became the MWC.

History always repeat itself.

If Boise was to leave, PAC 12 for example. One by one, other MWC team decides to leave. There is a downside (Hawaii get left behind.) But the upside is, could Hawaii eventually follow....

And form something like a PAC 18? North, Central, South?

It used to be Pac 8, then 10, then 12. So why not 18?

Ok, travel...distance, let's not use that excuse anymore. Traveling to the mainland was a big deal when I was kid to go Disneyland. Tt's not a big deal anymore. It hasn't been. Lots of flights all around the clock.

Harsin lost to SJSU 34-20. Now if they lose their Bowl game, he's going to look like a disappointment. I wouldn't mind them moving to American Athletic Conference though. They might find that conference more to their liking.

One problem with that idea. If we lose the Smurfs to another conference, bye-bye T.V. contracts!!!!! The MW needs the Smurfs.

I would think Brennan may be more attractive. Harsin continued Peterson's success whereas Brennan actually built a program at San Jose. Then again, there may other jobs available to Harsin.

Navy's Ken Niumatalolo frontrunner for Arizona Wildcats football coaching job?
Jeremy Cluff
Arizona Republic
We are almost a week into the Arizona football coach search and a lot of speculation and rumors have been swirling as to who could replace Kevin Sumlin as the coach of the Wildcats.

Much of that speculation involves Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo, who was strongly considered for the position before Arizona hired Sumlin.

CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd wrote that Niumatalolo is the "frontrunner" for the position, but also listed San Jose State's Brent Brennan as a possibility.

I agree. Harsin has to be able to sell the program and seats. Brennan is more capable of doing it for AZ. For whatever reason, I liked Peterson, I don't really care for Harsin. As a fan, I like Brennan. He showed mercy in the game not going for three in the waning moments.

I don't get the high for Brennan and thinking he's a capable P5 HC Candidate.....
Brent Brennan Career HC
2017 (2–11) 1–7 T–5th (West)
2018 (1–11) 1–7 6th (West)
2019 (5–7) 2–6 T–4th (West)
2020 (7–0) 6–0 T–1st Arizona Bowl
Total: (15–29)

He's upward trending. He had to build San Jose from the ground up. Look where he started and look what he did to Boise today.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is who would you rather have coaching UH? Also, why was Rolo chosen over Harsin at WSU especially since the cultures of the two areas Boise and Pullman are very much the same?
