2020 season
Re: 2020 season
If I remember correctly, Power 5 schools are virtual through the summer semester. On average, that means that college teams who have had spring no practice, any Kinnah OTA's wiped out means that ... This UH-UA game would happen from scratch ( teams finally practicing from Early to late August with maybe 2.5-3 weeks practiceBy the way ,UH got a new HC,so there will be a different scheme and new playbook to learn w/o a spring schedule . Nah!
Don't see it happening. We will see.

The UA-UH game, I waited 4 years for this game. I suppose that's not to bad as prior to the last time, UA-UH played at UA was 20 years before that.

Alright, fine. I'll be the one to ask the scary question: if the status of the 2020 season ends up being tied to the results of decisions made by state officials (for example, what happened in California the other day), what happens to Hawaii football? Would the state lean towards what California suggested for fall semester? Or less extreme?
Re: 2020 season
I seriously doubt that we would get any sort of decision or commitment from our wonderful Governor. Dude couldn't even remember his password to tell Hawaii (or whoever follows his Facebook/Twitter) that there was a false alarm. All he had to do was call the TV and radio stations and they could pass along the information. And what about TMT? He will keep punting until his term runs out.J-Rod wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 4:21 pm Alright, fine. good point.cabanalane wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 10:38 amSocial distancing in a stadium works at Aloha Stadium. It's not going to work at other mainland stadiums. If that stadium is at 80% full or even 60%, might be kind of hard to space people out.

J-Rod,
If Ige is following the science, and the number of new infections being reported daily by the StarAdvertiser is correct...and if social distancing continues to be practiced, then we are way ahead of California right now.
Single digit Hawaii daily new cases compared to three digit Cali increases....I think Hawaii opens up Manoa by fall if the current trend continues.

Re: 2020 season
less teams more TV opportunities and bigger pay days. So it ends up being a 6-8 game series. Play the games. ESPN will telecast they will need games. Fans will watch. $$$ opportunity for UH. If these other teams want to sit out the season so be it.

Re: 2020 season
Might become applicable for UH.....since this is coming from the Head Trainer for the Arizona Wildcats.....UH's scheduled opponent for the season opener away at Tucson…..
