Has anyone heard if UH has or will offer Codie Sauvao? He was a 2017 Kahuku grad I believe, and just played his 2nd year at Cali JC Golden West.
In 2021 he was voted 1st team All-State and Defensive Player of the year for the state of California CCCAA JC Football.
I am guessing he did a Morman mission in between. His twitter says he is still looking for a team to sign with.
Unless he was/is granted with an NCAA eligibility waiver, it looks like he would have 1 to play 1 otherwise (if he meets the JC transfer eligibility requirements of the requisite minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA with an AA degree).

how good is Zhen-Keith Sotelo? 75 ranking on ESPN
Zhen Sotelo is already on the UH roster. Redshirted his 2021 true frosh season. Will be entering this coming 2022 season as redshirt frosh with 4 to play 4.

Jacob Isaia OC/OG (son of former UCLA & NFL OL Sale Isaia; grandson of Polynesian Football HOF Bob Apisa) in the transfer portal from Michigan State via Bishop Gorman HS (Las Vegas, NV.) and 'Iolani School, with 2 to play 2.

Joshua Pakola DT in the transfer portal from Stanford University, originally from Mountain View, CA., with 3 to play 3....but possibly 4 to play 4.

You're welcome for the free trip to Hawaii. UH has a better campus, location and is a better school. I assume these two guys wanted to stay in CA.
UH might have passed on Isaia....since wouldn't make sense for him to want to go to Central California (since he's originally from here before moving to Las Vegas for HS). UH probably tripped him to see if he might be an option to play OT since interior OL is not among UH's current recruiting priorities.
Makes sense that Pakola wanted to stay reasonably near NorCal since he's always lived in NorCal.

Maybe. But they are going to Fresno State with Jeff Tedford who is now the head coach and its almost a guaranteed top finisher in the MWC with possible national recognition. For now, any top recruits with offers from Fresno State should be scrutinized if Hawaii wants to spend their recruiting $ wisely. Hawaii needs to look for hidden gems through national contacts.
