The towering and fast 6-foot-2, 195-pound target received his newest offer from Hawaii. He tells 247Sports that the newest opportunity via the Rainbow Warriors comes with a family significance.
“Hawaii is very special to me because my dad, brother, and three sisters live there,” Scott said. “My dad is in the Marines (stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe), and this is his second time being there, so I have been to Hawaii many times.
“I lived my entire life in San Diego and my dad was stationed in San Diego for a lot of it except for when he lived in Hawaii before. He moved back to Hawaii last year and it would be awesome to spend time with my family there and have them be able to watch me play. They only live about 30 minutes away from campus.”
Scott isn’t just enamored with the fact he has the chance to see his family again. He loves the fact that Hawaii has long been a wide receiver haven – which bodes well for the wideout.
“Just a couple of years ago Hawaii had multiple 1,000-yard receivers and they consistently have great receivers including ones on the roster now,” Scott said. “I know that Coach (Timmy) Chang likes to throw the ball and appreciates having a good receiving corp. They are going to try to recruit the best receivers and I know I would have to compete, but I know if I earned a chance to get on the field, I would have lots of opportunities to make plays.”

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have made the cut for a 5-Star recruit. After visiting UH earlier this week, Bradenton (Florida) IMG Academy offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa announced Hawaii in his Top 6 schools.
As to why Hawaii made his list, Mauigoa told 247Sports, “I really have a strong comfort level at Hawaii because I have a lot of family here. My older sister and younger brother live here and also my uncle (Keiki Misipeka) is a coach at UH and he’s always been a mentor for me. I like Timmy Chang and what he’s trying to build here. I visited earlier in the week and really liked it and they have some great people on the staff.”
Mauigoa will take official visits with the five Power-5 schools this month. His stop at UH earlier this week was an unofficial visit. He will take those next five visits all within the next three weeks and decide in either July or August.

Currently in a Recruiting DEAD PERIOD (during which time NO in-person contact/evaluation on or off-campus are allowed by staff with any prospective recruits including official and unofficial visits) which began June 27 and continues through August (with a brief Recruiting QUIET PERIOD from July 25 through July 31 when on-campus official and unofficial visits by prospective recruits are allowed).....after which the Recruiting EVALUATION PERIOD starts (when official and unofficial on-campus visits can resume...but off-campus in-person contacts are still not allowed....although staff are allowed to watch an athlete compete in person or visit their school but are not allowed to communicate with that athlete (or parents) off the college campus....but can communicate with their current coaches).
