Recruits?
Re: Recruits?
Sergio looks real strong with good feet. I can see him on the interior DL with the Ta`ala brothers, occupying OL and allowing Darius to wreak havoc.
Re: Recruits?
Danthony Jones looks like the disruptive edge guy we need. He sure has a lot of highlights.

I think D'Anthony Jones might not consider Hawaii. Kobe's death making him wary of flight travel. Hopefully it's just a shock phase.

4.57 40? Also a WR? If it's defense, that should add speed to that position.Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 5:14 pm Riley Wilson 6'2 200lb from Prestonwood, Texas - LB

Re: Recruits?
I think defense might need more depth. I wouldn't surprised if he stayed at WR. If he packs on 15-20 pounds, and keeps or improves on his 4.5 40, he'd be a great outside LB, a force to stop lateral runs.
The kid has a couple of offers though, UH is just the most recent school to offer.

Re: Recruits?
Hoping that Graham can somehow lure former Radford HS and UH DL Joe Seumalo away from San Jose State to be named the new DL Assistant Coach at UH this week.....before NLI Signing Day next week.
https://sjsuspartans.com/sports/footbal ... eumalo/444
Seumalo has been successfully recruiting Polynesian DL and LBs within Cali (both Northern & Southern Cal....from both JC and HS) to San Jose State....and previously coached under Graham as DL Coach at Arizona State so should have some Arizona recruiting ties.....as well as recruiting ties to Nevada (since also coached at UNLV) and with Amerika Samoa (where he actively recruited players to Oregon State)…..
Link
Luring Seumalo back to UH could maybe sway DL Soane Toia (who is originally from Tonga and was being recruited & had been offered by Brian Smith for UH before the coaching change) away from San Jose State....but also would probably hurt San Jose State near-term recruiting efforts with Polynesian defensive players....

"My relationship with Coach Seumalo is great," said Toia. "He understands the Polynesian way."

Re: Recruits?
I hope he comes but I hope he doesn't poach any recruits from his old coach. Might be burning some bridges. Just like I wouldn't like to see Rolo poaching some of his signees.kapakahi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:46 pm Hoping that Graham can somehow lure former Radford HS and UH DL Joe Seumalo away from San Jose State to be named the new DL Assistant Coach at UH this week.....before NLI Signing Day next week.

Re: Recruits?
Recruiting a 2nd player from the same small Texas high school.....Prestonwood Christian HS in Plano, Texas? Hmmm.....
Just hoping that this is not a package deal.....since should reserve spots for higher priority recruiting needs (CB, DL, OT, RB, and QB)…..instead of WR or even iLB. https://twitter.com/daytontoney/status/1222149602373251072

Re: Recruits?
All I would say is make your own decision. Don’t make it based on what anyone else wants. Ultimately it’s your life.kapakahi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 5:55 pm https://www.hawaiiprepworld.com/footbal ... om-hawaii/ https://twitter.com/HawaiiPrepWorld/status/1222267306190888961“Washington has been my dream school since my sophomore year. Re: Recruits?
Obviously Pei don't want Hawaii. He got burnt in man coverage and gave up a TD in the Polynesian bowl. His interceptions in that game were misread by the QBs. It's not like he jumped a route or something, the picks were thrown right to him. He got lucky on those plays. Here he is lucky enough to be given a full ride scholarship to an FBS school (Hawaii) and he doesn't sound very appreciative to me. They should pull his offer and make it easy on him to go to Udub where he can sit behind more talented players for 5 years.
