Re: ***Official XFL 2020 Thread***
Ta'amu is already the third best QB in the league, right behind PJ Walker and Cardale Jones. He is more efficient than both currently with his completion percentage. Their teams biggest weakness is also their biggest strength in that they are a run first team and they have the highest amount of time on offense in the entire league. They chew up so much time, that they average a TD per quarter. Against Houston, they had to switch into a passing team just to keep up with Houston.
I look forward to Jordan running for 80 yards plus against a dejected NY defense in their first home game of the season, which should be the biggest home crowd yet.

In the Jones Glanville bowl, JJ wins. Good game. JJ had the word Lanai in his play calling.

Tampa Bay came to play, much better than their first two weeks. Roughnecks defense starting to show the typical "bend but down break" give up the big plays on defense. They proved that if anyone is going to beat Houston, it'll have to be a shoot out.
Re: ***Official XFL 2020 Thread***
Well, JJ and Glanville know each other too well. And JJ is being JJ. I just chuckle when the announcers are amazed that JJ is not afraid to throw deep out of his own endzone and not run out the clock. As for JJ nice to see he somewhat evolved and even though he is not using a TE, he is using extra lineman to run the ball in goalline and run out the clock situations.

saw part of Jones vs Glanville this weekend. it's almost like the XFL intentionally scheduled these matchups to pull in the Hawaii fan.
Re: ***Official XFL 2020 Thread***
Let's see JJ vs. Glanville. Plus local boy Ta'amu playing. I saw part of the game in week 2 in the lunchroom at work and they had a shot of Norm Chow calling plays. One of the guys said "Hey, remember him?" Yeah you're right. Besides who else would we root for?

The battle for Texas is living up to expectations. The run-n-shoot vs the air raid are reaching the highest score total in the XFL and we still have plenty of time left in the 4th quarter.
Houston 27
Dallas 20
10:10 remaining in the 4th
Edit: Same score, final. Landry Jones might've torn his ACL again... Potential game tying catch from the 3 yard line was bobbled and picked, Houston ran out the clock.

Watched the Houston/Seattle game and it seems like JJ has found his home in the XFL. I like watching the XFL because you can hear the play calling before the plays are actually run. It really makes the television fan more involved than the NFL does. It seems like the XFL fans are fans that might not be able to afford the exorbitant season tickets for NFL games so its great for the lower-middle income people that want to see football live. It also makes it interesting for those people watching the games at Nevada Sports Gaming casinos as they flash the betting lines.

True. Now how about that beer snake that Oliver Luck gave a cup to.shrek2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 2:13 pm It really makes the television fan more involved than the NFL does. The crazy thing about this is that I want to see the Run and Shoot return to the NFL. I figure if the offense gave people fits 30 years ago...I would like to see what it can do now with all the rule changes favoring the passing game. Heck if the Cardinals can run the Air Raid...why not?

yeah, the coaches making the calls makes it worth watching. seattle's defense made some crazy plays, but listening to their coach call offensive plays was pretty funny. sounded so unsure of his own calls, that's gotta affect the confidence of the guys having to make the plays.

another super positive is the hearing the refs and seeing the booth operator look over things. the open-ness of the process, including what they're looking at, and the speed which they try to do it shows they're not intentionally trying to make bad calls.

Jim Zorn was head coach of the Redskins when Colt Brennan had a pretty good pre-season but never put him in during the regular season. I still hold a grudge against him for that.ubercow wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 4:04 pm yeah, the coaches making the calls makes it worth watching. seattle's defense made some crazy plays, but listening to their coach call offensive plays was pretty funny. sounded so unsure of his own calls, that's gotta affect the confidence of the guys having to make the plays.

Wasn't it because Colt kept showing up late for team meetings? I swear I've read or seen a video about that a long time ago.shrek2 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 4:13 pmJim Zorn was head coach of the Redskins when Colt Brennan had a pretty good pre-season but never put him in during the regular season. Anyway, It's only a matter of time before Houston gets into a trap game, I just don't see them going undefeated but I do think they're the heavy favorites to win the title game.

I didn't hear about this at the time. Thanks for the clarification. I just thought Zorn didn't want to play Colt because of his sidearm delivery.Bleed_Green wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:47 pmWasn't it because Colt kept showing up late for team meetings?
