The primary motivation is beating Ball State gets you into the finals. But revenge is the secondary motive. Ball State beat UH 3-0 and 3-2 earlier in the season at their place knocking UH out of its ranking. But Thelle, Voss and Galloway didn't play in either game and Humler only played one set in game 2. Even though Ball State is the #2 seed and UH is #3, I like our chances being full strength on a neutral court.

Galloway has been solid with his passing and serve receive, but I hope that as OH2 he is able to break out of his hitting slump in order to give Thelle another go to option. Go Warriors! And thank you ubercow for the streaming link!!

Boy, that was exciting against Ball State. My comment above was not prophetic in any way. Galloway's serve receive was the worst that I have seen him all season, granted that BSU's serving was tough, but he also struggled hitting and is still in a slump - lots of out balls and being blocked. Hoping for better against LBSU because Dimi and Spyros need more support. Overall the UH serve receive struggled and Thelle had to make a lot of out of system sets. Need to get the two middles involved even more but the serve receive overall has to improve. Impressed with Sheward because he dug some bombs and led the team in digs. In many other matches he kind of disappeared on defense.

At first Ball State looked like they had too much power but Hawaii really showed their endurance. If their finals didn't conflict with the Warriors playoff run, I'd drive down for 5 hours to Pauley. They are worth the price of admission.

UH gut it out in the semifinals against Ball St. while have more than usual amount of service and hitting errors. They clean those errors against Long Beach St. in the service/passing game. It was deja vu all over again in the championship match with an opposing team who has a terminator.
