Keys to Victory & Five Burning Questions: Arkansas vs. LSU

Sam Pittman wants Arkansas to clean up penalties

x
After an emotional home win over Mississippi State last weekend, the Arkansas Razorbacks (6-3, 2-3 SEC) will look to keep the good times rolling all the way to Baton Rouge (La.) for Saturday's matchup with LSU (4-5, 2-4 SEC). Kickoff from Tiger Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. (CT), and the game will be televised on SEC Network.

LSU leads the all-time series over Arkansas, 42-22-2, and have won the last five meetings, including a 27-24 nail-biter in Fayetteville last season with the Hogs severely depleted by COVID protocols. The last win for the Razorbacks over the Tigers was a 31-14 romp in Baton Rouge in the 2015 season.

Arkansas secured bowl eligibility with a late rally past the Bulldogs, 31-28, in Fayetteville its last time out, while a depleted LSU squad showed grit in an impressive performance in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) that ultimately ended in a 20-14 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

"We have high respect for LSU and their football team," said Arkansas coach Sam Pittman. "We’re looking forward to going over there and we know how loud and active the stadium is going to be and how well LSU has played and played last week. We know it’s going to be a huge opportunity for us, and we’re excited to go over there."

Here are "Five Burning Questions" and "Keys to Victory" for the Razorbacks as they hit the road in search of a big win at LSU:

FIVE BURNING QUESTIONS

1.) WHO HAS MORE GAS LEFT IN THE TANK?

November in the SEC West is a war of attrition in many cases as the teams with the better depth and luck in the injury department often find themselves in position for the strongest finishes. From that standpoint, Arkansas should have the advantage this weekend over an LSU team in flux. But that's not the only piece to the puzzle.

Both teams expelled a lot of energy last weekend. The Razorbacks are coming off the emotional high of a thrilling comeback win over Mississippi State but are only a week removed from a bye. LSU, on the other hand, put all its chips on the table in a narrow loss against Alabama. The Hogs have more to play for at this point with strong bowl possibilities still in the cards, while LSU is a few weeks away from a coaching search.

Will Arkansas be able to avoid any let down after Saturday's wild finish and notch a rare road win in Death Valley against an LSU team that may have left it all on the field in Tuscaloosa?

2.) ARE RAZORBACKS READY FOR ROWDY ROAD ENVIRONMENT?
Title/Alt Text
(Photo: 247Sports)
There are few more intimidating environments in college football than a night game under the lights from Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge (La.). There's a reason they call it Death Valley, and even in a down year, the LSU faithful will likely come out in droves.

Arkansas is 3-13-1 all-time in Baton Rouge. Most recently, the Hogs fell 56-20 to the eventual national champion Tigers in a 2019 game that just so happened to be KJ Jefferson's first career start. Interestingly, the last win for the Razorbacks in the series overall was a 31-14 romp over LSU in Tiger Stadium in 2015.

The Hogs are 0-2 in true road games this season and struggled to handle the crowd noise and atmosphere of 90,000-plus at Georgia, but that was well over a month ago. It won't be easy, but Arkansas is entering this weekend's contest as a road favorite for a reason.

3.) HOW WILL KJ JEFFERSON FARE IN RETURN TO BATON ROUGE?

It feels like yesterday when a true freshman KJ Jefferson was thrown to the wolves for his first career start in Death Valley against the soon-to-be national champion LSU Tigers back in 2019. With an interim coach leading the charge, Jefferson went 7-14 passing for 105 yards and was held to zero rushing yards on 12 attempts with three sacks skewing his totals. It was a moment he wasn't quite ready for and a game he was knocked out of with injury.

Fast forward to the present, and Jefferson is the catalyst for a rejuvenated bunch of Razorbacks looking to continue building momentum after clinching bowl eligibility last week. LSU allows 249.1 passing yards per game (No. 12 SEC) and has given up the second most passing touchdowns (20) in the league with a secondary fighting attrition.

The Tigers also have trouble with mobile quarterbacks. They allowed 74 rushing yards to Bo Nix and 69 to Florida's dual-threat tandem. All those factors bode well for a big day from Jefferson.

4.) WILL HOGS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LSU QUARTERBACK LIMBO?

(Photo: Stephen Lew, USA TODAY Sports)
Arkansas fans can attest to the fact the playing multiple quarterbacks is rarely a recipe for success. That's not to say it won't work out differently for LSU on Saturday as they plan to utilize both starter Max Johnson and true freshman Garrett Nussmeier against the Razorbacks, but it's an opportunity for Barry Odom's defense to ensure the Tigers leave the game still uncertain of who their guy is moving forward.

Johnson, a lefty, has good size, experience and an understanding of the system, but he has taken a beating over the course of the season and has struggled with consistency. He hasn't thrown for more than 160 yards in over a month. Nussmeier, on the other hand, has the ability to stretch the field with a big arm but has only appeared in one SEC game where he went 7-12 for 103 yards and a score against Ole Miss.

5.) CAN HOGS WIN BOTH SIDES OF RUN GAME?

(Photo: Arkansas Communications)
If the Razorbacks can control things on the ground on both sides of the football, it will go a long way towards getting out of Death Valley with a win. On paper, Arkansas should have an advantage in both areas, although the Tigers have shown some significant improvement recently.

It's a matchup of the top rushing attack in the SEC (243.8 ypg) against an LSU defense that ranks in the middle of the pack allowing 148 yards per game. However, the Tigers held Alabama to just six rushing yards last weekend. Some of that is skewed by sack yardage, but they still limited Brian Robinson Jr to 18 yards on 13 carries.

The Hogs are allowing 156 yards per game on the ground and would figure to have success against an LSU offense that ranks 13th in the league with just 111.9 yards per game rushing. However, Tyrion Davis-Price is coming off a 100 yard game against Bama and has racked up 591 yards himself in the last four games. If Arkansas can take that element away, it puts the pressure on an unsettled quarterback position to try and beat them.

KEYS TO VICTORY

1.) PENALTIES

Arkansas ranks in the bottom three in the SEC in every penalty category, including total flags (77), total penalty yards (642), flags per game (5.6) and penalty yards per game (71.3). Among all Power Five programs, Arkansas only ranks above Arizona, Mississippi State, Arizona State and Ole Miss when it comes to the amount of yellow laundry thrown its way on Saturdays.

The Razorbacks were flagged 11 times over the weekend, costing them 78 yards in their win over Mississippi State. Pre-snap infractions continue to be a concern as over half of the penalties were false start or offsides calls. In a hostile road environment Saturday, Arkansas needs as clean of a game as possible.

LSU, on the other hand, averages the fewest penalty yards (31.4) per game of any FBS team in the country, while drawing just 4.2 flags per game. Last weekend at Alabama, the Tigers were penalized six time for 30 yards.

2.) TURNOVERS

Arkansas continues to do a nice job of taking care of the football this season. The Razorbacks were turnover free in last weekend's win over Mississippi State, and a similar result would go a long way towards notching a key road victory this Saturday.

The Hogs have lost seven turnovers this season. Only Ole Miss has fewer among SEC teams with six. However, Arkansas has only come up with nine takeaways (8 int/1 fumble), which is only good for 11th in the conference. The Razorbacks did get a key pick from Grant Morgan against the Bulldogs.

LSU has been fairly solid in the turnover department, as well, losing 10 total so far with six interceptions thrown and four fumbles lost. The Tigers have produced a dozen takeaways on the season, tied for eighth-best in the SEC.

3.) SPECIAL TEAMS

The legend of Cam Little continues to grow as the confident kicker earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors after drilling 3-of-4 field goal attempts from 46, 48 and 51 yards last weekend. The next step in his progression is carrying it over to one of the most intimidating night environments in the country.

Arkansas seems to be settled with Parodi is the primary return man at this point and just need to stay the current course when it comes to the coverage and protection units being solid.

LSU has a solid kicker of its own in Cade York, who is 9-of-10 on field goals this season. The Tigers have been fairly quiet in the return game but do have a pair of blocked kicks to their credit so far.

4.) INJURIES

Arkansas is reasonably healthy for this point in the year, although season-ending injuries to Jalen Catalon (shoulder), Dorian Gerald (leg) and now Zach Zimos (ACL) are certainly unfortunate. Pittman mentioned Jalen St. John, who is battling an undisclosed wrist injury, and freshman Chase Lowery as a pair of others banged up at the moment.

LSU's woes run deep. Key pieces in WR Kayshon Boutte, DB Derek Stingley, DB Eli Ricks and DE Ali Gaye are all out for the season. According to Geaux247 publisher Billy Embody, the Tigers were without DB Sage Ryan, DL Mason Smith and DB Cordale Flott defensively last weekend against Bama, and only Flott is hopeful for a return.

On his weekly radio show Wednesday, Ed Orgeron mentioned OL Chasen Hines and OL Ed Ingram as another pair of players who will be unavailable this weekend.

5.) SACKS AND PRESSURES

What stood out the most in LSU's narrow loss to Alabama was the way they dialed up multiple blitzes and gave the Crimson Tide fits in the backfield where they sacked Bryce Young four times and racked up eight tackles for loss. The Tigers are playing aggressive and with freedom. Arkansas' veteran offensive line and starting running back Dominique Johnson have done a nice job identifying and picking up blitzes, and it will be key on Saturday.

On the flip side, LSU has allowed its quarterbacks to be sacked 26 times this season, second-most in the league to Tennessee. It also looks like the Tigers are facing some shuffling around on the offensive line. Arkansas hasn't exactly lived in opposing backfields this season, but they looked refreshed against Mississippi State, and Tre Williams has the chance to make a significant impact in this one.

Razorbacks Beat LSU In OT 16-13

Post by HawaiianHogster »

That was a difficult game to watch for me. Our offense could not move the ball much at all. Thank goodness for the defense and special teams. They did a fine job of getting us in front of LSU. That interception in the end zone was huge in OT. I knew Cam Little would kick the winning field goal. A freshman with ice in his veins.

However our offense did get us in scoring position and scored a TD which allowed the OT to happen. KJ did some miraculous running for his life to get first downs. It reminded of Matt Jones when he was our QB during Houston Nutt's tenure. Making first downs out of broken plays or possible sacks. KJ was determined to win this game. I believe we had more rushing yards than Alabama did against LSU. We played them in Death Valley at night. LSU is always tough to beat at that time. This was a very huge win for the Razorbacks.

Going winless in the SEC in the past during Bret and Chads leadership or lack there of, to today, during Sam Pittman's leadership going 7 - 3 in what started out as the toughest schedule in NCAA or at least the top 5 toughest. A coach that no one, outside of Razorback Nation, gave a snowballs chance of having a winning program and they said he was a joke of a hire and would not last long at all. Well here we are in season 2 under his leadership being bowl eligible at 7-3 with a chance to go to Alabama to pull out a miracle win, then the last game at Fayetteville against Missouri. Will they go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2? They're all possible. If they give it their all and execute well with minimal penalties they could go 2-0 barring more injuries.

Of course I'm a Razorback fan and I always say we have 50 percent chance of winning every game we play. However the two teams I said would most likely beat us was Georgia and Alabama. I want to see the new and improved Razorbacks go down to Alabama and give them fits with a chance to win it in the 4th QTR. It seems like every time we play Alabama they take their game to a knew level and put a major butt whooping on us. I guess I would be satisfied with a close loss as that would be a major improvement in our program from the dark past of losing big time.

Can Arkansas give it their all after a win against LSU in OT? Will they have any energy left? Are there too many players playing with injuries that they won't be able to keep up with Bama? Many, many questions unanswered. Time will tell.

On to Bryant Denny Stadium ready or not. Give it your all and see where the chips land. With a lot of luck they could surprise the world of NCAA football. Maybe Alabama plays down to their opponent? I don't understand why they don't win by larger margins. Maybe they're saving that for my Razorbacks. LOL.

It's time To Show Up

Post by HawaiianHogster »

Statistically the Razorbacks are inferior. That means they have no chance to win statistically. They should forfeit the game. Why play a game you're supposed to lose. That's stupid to play that game.

Hold on for a minute. Stats don't make TD's. Stats don't get sacks or interceptions. Hell stats don't play and can't play a football game no matter how hard it tries. So throw that stuff out the window. It is useless.

OK look at Georgia. They absolutely demolished the Razorbacks. That was played in Georgia. The first game of the season that the Hogs played away from home and inside the enemies territory. The Hogs were caught off guard by the loud fan noises. They weren't ready for the staunch defense. Our defense wasn't ready for their offense. Even our special teams were caught off guard. All those things were new to them. They learned and figured out what they could've done to improve. That was the only game the Hogs got manhandled.

After that they went on and played tough at Ole Miss but came up short on the winning extra two point conversion. That loss hurt KJ bad. So bad it affected his play against Auburn. The Hogs are a better team than Auburn but they didn't have their QB mentally with them. Because of that and the many bad calls and no calls allowed Auburn to win it. The Hogs went on to beat Miss State and LSU. Of course they beat UAPB.

A little beat up now but playing better football in all three phases. They have come to the Alabama game. It's a game that Arkansas wants to make up for that horrible defeat at Georgia. It's a game they can prove to themselves that they are worthy to be on the same field with Alabama. Our players and coaches know they are capable of winning SEC games. There is no pressure for them to win this one. But they want it bad. As long as the team all agree that they know they can win they will have a chance to. if anyone does not feel that way it will work against them and they will lose and lose big time.

The only thing I question that could keep Arkansas from playing them close are the referees. How many bad calls, ticky-tacky calls going to be made against the Hogs to slow their momentum down. On the other side how many calls help Alabama's momentum continue? Will there be an interception called back when the hogs defense makes the catch? Will that fumble end up being a lost ball that nobody made a football move to get it? How many times will Alabama's defense hold our receivers and never get called for it? Every year this kind of officiating comes about when the Hogs play Alabama and Auburn. Maybe it's because the SEC referees are stationed in Alabama? That could be why they chose to do that.

I believe the referees will figure out a way to help Alabama totally destroy Arkansas so they can represent the west at the SECT. That's why they put this game on CBS so all the voters can see Alabama is a badass team and deserves to play in the playoff no matter what. Even though LSU almost beat them. Texas A&M beat them. Florida played them close for awhile, and Tennessee started out strong against them. As though Alabama has to get blowout points in order to be competitive. Such B.S.

We will find out come tomorrow. Win or lose the pressure is all on Alabama. If the Hogs start strong and continue to increase their ability to keep the lead there will be that chance they can win. No matter the spread, no matter how Alabama usually trounces Arkansas. I give Arkansas a 50 percent chance to win.

If the Hogs win, my oh my will that be a day that will be remembered for a lifetime through the ages. If the Hogs lose. Eh. they were supposed to. LOL

Yesssiirrrrrrrrrrrr! I watched the first qtr then I went to the Hospital to visit my new Grandson who was Born, 11/19/2021, Friday evening. What a precious sight to see. Such a beautiful little baby.

I recorded the game. I haven't watched it yet. When I saw some of the scores I was elated to see that the Razorbacks would not get blown out. From the scores what I saw was a comeback attempt by the Hogs. Woooo pig sooie Razorbacks! I'm sure I will see some mistakes that Arkansas made that let Alabama take advantage. I'm sure I will see some no calls on Alabama's defense against our receivers which I saw at least one in the first qtr. I don't know how Bama scored so quickly at times. Maybe from turnovers?

Sucks we lost but it feels awesome we didn't get pummeled by Alabama in their house. It's been a long time for that to happen. Seems like ever since Arkansas upset LSU when Saban was head coach that Saban made sure every year that his team played their best football when they faced Arkansas. He does not want to lose to Arkansas ever again. Looks like it will happen one day soon if Saban doesn't retire this year. That is if Arkansas and Alabama are set to play each other next season in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Thank you for your positive post and taking notice of my other favorite team outside of Hawaii. I'm proud of our Warriors for a good season with no support from our state at all. That has to be the toughest thing to do. To be the only college in DIV1 football to have no supporting fans in the stands when everyone else was packed full of supporting and screaming fans. It would be difficult, I think, to get kids out here to play when the support is lacking. No funds coming in. The state is losing the fan base and it all started with leaving K5 the home team. Ever since then the fans interests has waned. Until they bring K5 back into the fold, the fans will slowly disappear. K5 gave everyone in the state a first look at our team. Fans would watch them play every home game and get interested in watching them play in person. They would get excited. Back in the day most people new who was on the team. Not so much today. Continue to Pay Per View and watch that dwindle down the fan base even more. Especially when we don't have a real stadium to be proud of to play in. We will be lucky to keep Todd Graham as our head coach. If he leaves who would come to replace him? This is just my opinion and it doesn't mean I'm right. But I feel I'm correct in my thinking of Hawaii's football team support.

COACH SAM PITTMAN FOR COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

Post by HawaiianHogster »

Image

From Death To Resurrection of Life. Pittman Deserves Coach of The Year For Job Well Done At Arkansas
For a short period of time that felt like two decades the Arkansas Football program looked like it was dead.

This roster had plenty of talent on it to win more than eight games in three seasons. No one can tell me otherwise. The recruiting classes were always in the top 25 to mid 30’s. No, that doesn’t equate to winning a lot in the toughest football conference, the SEC, but it should keep a program above water and beating its weaker non-conference opponents.

An unacceptable road loss Colorado State in week two of the 2018 season was a shocker. Losing to North Texas in blowout fashion was absolutely embarrassing. In 2019, an embarrassing loss to lowly San Jose State and a blowout to Ty Storey led Western Kentucky was the tip of the iceberg.

You’re telling me talented players like Devwah Whaley, Cole Kelley, Treylon Burks, Trey Knox, Santos Ramirez, McTelvim Agim, Chevin Calloway, Scoota Harris, Jonathan Marshall, Mike Woods, Montaric Brown, Kam Curl, Bumper Pool, Dre Greenlaw, Joe Foucha, Rakeem Boyd, Nick Starkel, Jalen Catalon, Myron Cunningham, Dalton Wagner, Ricky Stromberg and many many more players who graced the Cardinal and White weren’t good enough to be better than 2-10 back to back seasons? These players should be commended for the hell they endured during the Chad Morris era.

That’s what has frustrated myself covering the Razorbacks over the years. Finally, a coach who this team will absolutely fight for. Not only fight but run through walls and shatter ceilings that are above them to rise from the dead! Perhaps this Razorback program wasn’t dead… it may have been thriving the whole time. Hungry for the day it would be unleashed to eat!

This program is being built as a winner. Built on the confidence within themselves that “who we have is all we need,” famously said by Sam Pittman. There is an absolute hunger for success. A hunger to be better each game! Look no further than the starting quarterback. KJ Jefferson who didn’t start so fast to begin the season but has put together one of the better statistical seasons in recent memory by a Razorback quarterback and there’s still two more games to play this season. Jefferson has completed 79-percent of his passes the previous three games for 664 yards, five touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. How’s that for efficiency. His 20:3 touchdown to interception ratio is the best since Brandon Allen’s 2014 and 2015 seasons. He has proven himself to be the leader going into next season where he could be a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy.

Pittman has completely turned this program upside down. He rid this team of all distractions and implemented a focus of US not ME. He commands respect by his actions and not his resume. The Head Hog leads by humble example and not as a jerk to his players. He has developed trust within the administration building to the coaches and to the team. This is how Arkansas sits 7-4 and even a couple of plays from being 9-2. What a turnaround from being 4-20 in 2018 and 2019. Pittman is what this program needed even when sportswriters around the country dismissed the hire not knowing the impact that he made in his three year stint at Arkansas from 2013-15. He was prepared for this job by Kirby Smart. Pittman will even tell you that although he was taught so many things before he became a head coach is that he is doing it his way, it may not be the right way but it’s his way. “His way” has been successful so far.

On a cold December night, Yurachek took a trip to Georgia to present a contract to Pittman, who seemed to be the third or fourth option. “YESSIRRRRRR,” exclaimed Pittman and Yurachek as they shook hands for a picture and video of the moment. He wanted the job. He knew what it took to be the head coach at the University of Arkansas he said. Pittman continued to say this is a blue collar state and that his football team would take on the mindset of their state with a blue collar work ethic. He wants the state to be “damn proud” of their team. Oh, how what he said in his introductory press conference held true.

Then, last year came with Covid-19 forcing a restructuring of the college football landscape for just one year. Arkansas was tasked with the toughest schedule in college football history in 2020 where six of their ten opponents were ranked inside the top 25, four of them being top 10 teams and two of them were representatives in the SEC Championship Game. The SEC wanted to kill the Razorbacks. The conference wanted to hammer the final nail in the coffin and create the new “Vanderbilt of the SEC West.” Guess what, it didn’t happen! The Hogs won three games but were screwed out of two others due to officiating gaffes. That aside, Pittman’s coaching tenure at Arkansas is off to the best start (11-11, Texas Bowl forfeit included) since Bobby Petrino when he started 13-12.

Personally, I liked what Pittman said during his press conference following the heartbreaking loss to Alabama on Saturday.

“The days of Arkansas being embarrassed and getting their teeth knocked out are over,” said Pittman.

What’s next for Arkansas as the coaching carousel begins to heat up? With SEC jobs opening up like LSU, Florida and potentially Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Auburn could one of Arkansas’ coordinators be in line for a promotion to head coach? That means Arkansas has done such a good job under Pittman that folks are coming after his assistants. Will he be able to keep his staff together?

Finally, Pittman deserves at least SEC Coach of the Year. The job he has done resurrecting the Razorbacks in less than two seasons is nothing short of a coaching miracle. This team believes in their head coach. The recruits can see the progress that is being made on “The Hill” and are beginning to believe in the head coach. Assistant coaches around the country are taking note of the job that Pittman has done and are believing in themselves that they can do the same. The ultimate act of respect from the conference would be recognizing the job that Pittman has done at Arkansas and award him the highest honor there is for a head coach at the Power-Five level. It’s the right thing to do.

Sully Says: Bama lucky to escape with win

I love Sam Pittman.

This isn't a one-game thing. It's a two-year love affair. How much fun have these past two seasons been?

I love that he speaks from the heart following games. My favorite Sam-ism from last night: "We're done getting our teeth kicked in."

Not once Saturday did Arkansas look like a 20 point underdog. Bama was lucky to escape with a win.

I've looked at Alabama's game-clinching touchdown pass more than the replay officials, and I'm still not convinced he had control of the ball before he tumbled out of bounds. For the record, Arkansas had the perfect defense for that play, but Bama receiver Jameson Williams just ran right by our safeties.

At times, the Arkansas defense looked helpless. I can say the same thing about Bama's vaunted defensive unit. KJ Jefferson and Treylon Burks abused Bama. Nick Saban had to be thinking, "how did Arkansas get these two?"

I love the way Sam's Hogs compete.

The best example of "Pittman Ball?" Early fourth quarter, Bama is a yard away from going up two scores when Montaric Brown stripped Bama tight end Cameron Lutu of the ball and Brown recovered the fumble. Sam Pittman won't allow his Hogs to give up on any play.

Did anyone predict this? Midway through the fourth quarter, the Hogs had the ball with a chance to take the lead.

How did Arkansas get within six? A fake field goal that Alabama wasn't ready for. Nick Saban insisted they were prepared for the play. He said an official got in the way of the Bama defender who would have foiled the play. The replay shows that Nick is fibbing. The defender may have stopped Blake Kern before he scored but had no chance to stop the completion.

The fourth "B" is the only thing that could affect my feelings for Coach. It's not the Battle Line Trophy Battle. It's the Barry Bowl. Barry Odom will never say it, but this is his bowl game.

Beating Missouri is a must-win game for Barry and the Hogs.

I Warned you about the Alabama (SEC) Officials

An Arkansas BBQ Joint Has Banned SEC Football Officials From the Establishment Until the Hogs Beat Alabama

Wright’s Barbecue

@wrightsbarbecue

These @SECOfficiating reviews have been an absolute joke, no one from the SEC office is allowed at Wrights until we beat bama in football

Arkansas went down to the wire with Alabama on Saturday, eventually falling to the Tide 42-35. The Razorbacks were seeking their first win over Bama since 2006 and their first in Tuscaloosa since 2003.

The Tide's one-score win wasn't without much dismay from everyone in the state of Arkansas not only at the result of the game, but also at the officials. Alabama, as it usually does, received quite a bit of help from the refs on its home field and Hogs fans — as well those rooting for the downfall of Nick Saban or just neutral observers wanting to see a fair game — were none too pleased.

Are the officials actually watching the Arkansas - Alabama game?

Arkansas was a full yard in the end zone and originally before being overturned the refs spotted ball at the 1

If you think NFL officials are bad.. watch what has happened between Arkansas and Alabama. Complete misfits and wanting to be part of the game. Just horrible.

These officials in this Bama game. Good Lord!

So Wright's Barbecue of Johnson, Arkansas decided to do something about it: SEC officials are banned from the restaurant until the Razorbacks get a win against Alabama.

Seems more than fair to me. It's about damn time somebody stands up to the tyrants ruining SEC football games, because it has become abundantly clear Greg Sankey won't do it — he's probably the one ordering favorable officiating in the Crimson Tide's favor in close games like this. So if the conference is going to keep running these guys out there at the expense of kids playing their tails off and trying to get a big win, at least they will be unable to enjoy some of Northwest Arkansas' finest 'cue.

We need every SEC town's two or three most respected establishments to band together for this cause. If the league office won't correct the injustices occurring on a weekly basis, maybe the refs will start calling a fair game when they aren't allowed to eat at any of the fine restaurants the great cities of the Southeastern Conference have to offer.
