:D
On a similar note, if you are chasing the dream of being a D1 QB with hopes of the NFL, you better not be worried about #2 taking your place if you start messing up. The theory of pick one QB and stick with him no matter what is insane. Wasn't that something many complained about Norm Chow. Heck if Nick Saban coached like that, Jalen Hurst would still be at Bama and Tua would be a Junior reserve
True, but that kind of stuff can mess with any players psyche and affect their play. If roles were reversed I’m sure Chevan’s play would be poor as well.

If a team wants to go with two different QBs, that's fine, but they need to be "different." Different skillset. I see CMD and CC being the same. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, but same.

I agree with your statement. Pick one.

And agree with Big Wave too, Chow could not decide on a QB. IMO, Woosley was his "best" choice in terms of consistency, and only to be pulled in favor of Chow's USC bias. Not saying Woosley is GOAT, but he never got the chance to develop. Imagine if he got a legit 3 years, as the starting QB at this So year. I don't know.

Norm Chow would never be a head coach except at Hawaii. Choosing a quarterback was the least of his problems. Choosing position coaches was the worst of his problems. Deciding to eliminate the most promising offensive and defensive coordinators in Hawaii football history was a joke. Heck, the whole get rid of McMackin shtick was a joke. Choosing Chow to lead us was almost as dumb as choosing Von Appen. Head coaches switch out quarterbacks all the time. Just ask Jalen Hurts or Steele Jantz.

QB decisions Rolo had to make:
2016 Ikaika Woolsey -> Dru Brown --> HI Bowl
2017 No QB Change, Dru Brown --> No Bowl Game
2018 Dru Brown -> Cole McDonald -> Chevan Cordeiro -> HI Bowl
2019 Cole McDonald -> Chevan Cordeiro --> HI Bowl

Sometimes a change up is a good thing

Didn’t we win with the change in QB? Isn’t that the goal? To win the game?

All some fans see is just cannon fodder out there. They don’t see that the players are human beings just like us.
Now you are just getting silly.
You’re the same dude who Ewaliko to play QB. That’s silly.

“Keelan Ewaliko ranks as one of the most multi-talented quarterbacks in the MIL over the past 20 years,” ESPN commentator said. “He’s a threat with his legs and with his arm, demonstrating tremendous growth as a passer. Simply put, Ewaliko has no peer when it comes to running the football, throwing the football and scoring touchdowns.“

He was recruited by Chow, and after being named MIL Offensive Player of the Year for three years and having a 3 year Win/Loss record of 22-0 at QB, then was put on the defensive side of the ball. Are you defending Chow’s decision? It figures.

Only a short term fix. Won’t help in the long term and that came to fruition in the championship game.

It means a missed opportunity of developing a speedy, (State Track champion) dual threat Quarterback that knew how to win, who if developed at the college level, could have helped to achieve more wins in the Chow era.

If he had the opportunity to be developed by Vince Passas during the off season or was provided reps to develop in a redshirt year and freshman year. He could have been a difference maker in the Chow era, rather than Chow importing QB transfers.

But a closed minded, stubborn Head Coach couldn't see the opportunity, and it appears, neither could you.

Disagree. Winning games is not a short term fix. It helps improve recruiting, which helps improves our team quality and depth over time. It raises team and fan base morale, brings more fans to the game and it helps develop talented QB's like Chevan and keeps them on our roster. (Along with our other young QB back ups.) It helps prepares them if our starting QB gets injured, (an issue that you seem obsessively paranoid about, but it happens.)

Boise State beat us with their back up QB, as did Wyoming and Utah State in recent years, (and some were Freshman QB's). Without exposure to playing time, Hawaii's QB back ups would not be prepared for game time speed. Another factor, is if our QB is suffering from several hits in the game with a possible mild concussion, he should be taken out and allowed to recover. Most competitive QB's will refuse to sit out unless pulled from the game.

Keeping a QB in was Chow's weakness, it was painfully obvious that he had the old school mentality, leaving Schroder in, getting pounded by the defense. Poor guy looked like a tackling dummy during some games.

You’re talking about changing an entire offensive scheme for a player who may or most likely may not develop. If any player during Chow’s time should’ve been switched from receiver to QB it should’ve been Makoa Camase-Stevens. He was basically a Marcus Mariota clone and actually had experience playing QB in college before coming back to Hawaii. Also I did not like when Chow switched David Graves to receiver. See I’m not stubborn like you with your love.
