that's pretty funny. on the topic, I've heard reports of Hawaii people's real-id cards not scanning because the state changed the barcode format. on a recent trip to the mainland, the guy scanned my card 3 times and said that it failed (HNL). I luckily brought my passport so was able to get through TSA. I have a feeling that's what happened with my card, because the last time I had to renew was when the state began requiring all the additional documentation for that gold star ID. I'm up for a renew this year, so I'm hoping I'll get the new barcode format.
