How could they miss Russ Francis?
NFL Hawaiians
Re: NFL Hawaiians
It ain’t just Russ they missed.
They must think that DeForest Buckner ain’t from Hawaii. That’s the only reason they could exclude him.

Re: NFL Hawaiians
Maybe they excluded Russ Francis because he was born in Seattle but his dad ran 50th State wrestling as Ed Francis. Herman Wedemeyer was great and they mourned his passing at St. Mary's but his professional career was short. Yup, DeForest Buckner should be up there. But what about Mark Tuinei, 15 years NFL but maybe it was because he was born in Oceanside. Maybe they excluded Jesse Sapolu because he was born in Samoa but he went to school at Farrington and seems to have a strong tie to Hawaii.

Just to add a few names to the list, what about Blaine Gaison (4yr NFL), Mel Tom (8yr NFL), Jim Nicholson (5yr NFL) and I know I'm missing somebody else but it doesn't come to mind.shrek2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:11 am Maybe they excluded Russ Francis because he was born in Seattle but his dad ran 50th State wrestling as Ed Francis. Re: NFL Hawaiians
Knowing that you mentioned Mark Tuinei reminds me that the list also excluded Charlie and Kale Ane, which is asinine.shrek2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:11 am Maybe they excluded Russ Francis because he was born in Seattle but his dad ran 50th State wrestling as Ed Francis. This is just somebody's list. No need to be name calling.gopunahou wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:31 pmKnowing that you mentioned Mark Tuinei reminds me that the list also excluded Charlie and Kale Ane, which is asinine.shrek2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:11 am Maybe they excluded Russ Francis because he was born in Seattle but his dad ran 50th State wrestling as Ed Francis.
