What I believe is when he was offered 350,000 and JJ said to take it! That is a good reason to leave. That is a justified reason.
No matter what, be happy you still got your health!

Now if Chawan-cut can get the band to play Mack the Knife whenever the defense has to go on the field or when they make a big stop.. that might be kind of funky with 30,000+ fans singing their heads off.

\ o / ~
Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.

Ya know when that shark bites, with his teeth, babe
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears old MacHeath, babe
So there’s nevah, nevah a trace of red.

Now on the sidewalk … uuh, huh … whoo … sunny mornin’ … uuh, huh
Lies a body just oozin' life … eeek!
And someone’s sneakin' ‘round the corner
Could that someone be Mack the Knife?

A-there's a tugboat … huh, huh, huh … down by the river don’tcha know
Where a cement bag’s just a'droopin' on down
Oh, that cement is just, it's there for the weight, dear
Five'll get ya ten old Macky’s back in town.

Now, d'ja hear ‘bout Louie Miller? He disappeared, babe
After drawin' out all his hard-earned cash
And now MacHeath spends just like a sailor
Could it be our boy's done somethin' rash?

Now … Jenny Diver … ho, ho … yeah … Sukey Tawdry
Ooh … Miss Lotte Lenya and old Lucy Brown
Oh, the line forms on the right, babe
Now that Macky’s back in town.

Aah … I said Jenny Diver … whoa … Sukey Tawdry
Look out to Miss Lotte Lenya and old Lucy Brown
Yes, that line forms on the right, babe
Now that Macky’s back in town …

Look out … old Macky is back!!

We are lucky to have great coaches. Especially ones that want to be here and have the passion for Warrior football. It is being refined into a mind blowing offense and now, can we anticipate a top rated kick-okole defense? YES! We are lucky gents and ladies.......we will get to witness the whole thing first hand. Welcome back, Coach Mac!

NOW I REMEMBER!

i forgot about mac's credentials.

i remember now, what he did for the seahawks prior to coming to uh.

the seahawks sucked under erickson... but the defense was good.

they forced a lot of turnovers and made a lot of sacks

then when mac, came to uh in 99.... we also had a lot of sacks and forced a lot of turnovers.

i love glanville, but i was a little disappointed that we didn't see the high number of sacks and turnovers i was expecting from his blitzing defense.

so if mac can work his magic like he did in 99, we could actually see an improvement from our d this year.

we're gonna win the wac this year!

Is it near Lake Havasu? Nice spring break destination.

Okay to check it out in the Spring, but not the Summer. If you think Phoenix is hot during the summer with average temps around 108, Lake Havasu is even hotter with temps that average around 112 or higher. It is not uncommon for Lake Havasu to approach 120...can we boil an egg on the sidewalk ???

Mac and Jerry

Both are great at calling the right play and improvising adjustments in a game, but Mac may be even better. I remember the way he adjusted the safety blitz to get Nate Jackson to the QB, for example. He has a knack for knowing what the O is doing and what to call to stop it.

I'm looking forward to seeing his defense stifle the other teams offense. It's going to be an exciting year for the Warriors.

CoachKen wrote: Thu Apr 05, 2007 12:27 pm I think McMackin is a great fit with experience here and in the pros as well as being a DC in another spread offense oriented team (not the run and shoot...had to make that point....my new motto is "the run and shoot....there is no substitute!") I like the fact we get very intensive coaching on the defense. I still say Rich Miano has the toughest job on the defense and maybe on the coaching staff.

Lots of good stuff. I will be looking for the following from our defense:

1. A lot of zone blitz packages.
2. Combo stunts
3. Great technique on the line
4. Hard pressure from the ends
5. LB situational blitzes

With the athletic ability of our end/LB types, they could easily drop into covrage while safely bringing a drop safety on a safety blitz (shades of LP crushing Rudy Carpenter of ASU!)

I actually think the 4-3 when played with controlled risk is a better defense for Hawaii. It takes a lot of pressure off the tackles with very little two gap responsibility and easy disquise on the zone plays. It also is better against the zone running schemes that are more prevalent in college football today.

The one thing that confused me regarding JG's defense was the numbers for the defensive secondary were different, cover 3 was not the traditional cover three....a little confusing.

Anyway, although I am a Jeff Reinbold proponent, as long as he is still on the coaching staff I am happy. He will get his shot one day, he is a great coach and we are lucky to have both of these guys.

Coach
Thanks Coach ... you were correct
