As much as I appreciate CC for bringing attention to the WNBA or now called the "W," I watched the GS Valkyries in passing and knowing that they lost some of their starting players to the European World Cup. They actually bring on a better show than an MLB game to me. Here's the Valkyries beating a top team Seattle Storm and moving their record to 8-6.

CC is also known for her great interviews which has enhanced the WNBA but I gotta say that the Valkyries do interview well. Part of the reason why they have 10 sellouts in a row.

Paige Bueckers got more votes by the WNBA players over Caitlin Clark. I thought that WNBA players said that a rookie needs to earn respect. I'm not laughing with you. I'm laughing at you.

Who?

I read the article. I understand it's not a popularity contest. It's basketball.

I'm sure many would criticize that WNBA is not promoting other players. But this is not socialism. In business, you sell what the customers want. What customers want also got the stats to back it up. I think CC should end up a bit higher than 9th. You can choose Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, or Dr. J, as #1. I can respect that. We all have our favorite players. But 9th?

WNBA players are petty and ungrateful that it's laughable. They really make me laff.

A lot of the controversy with the WNBA is actually created by the media if you don't discern between the real news and the "hype." I saw an article on my webpage that said Angel Reese not on CC's All Star team. Okay, so this is all based on fan voting and the Chicago Sky didn't fans out to vote for her. CC has been out most of the season but I still see attention seeking writers still trying to start conversations about her. These days, I just ignore any headlines with CC in the headlines. That's why my attention just switched to the local WNBA team because all these ladies on the team are making less than $100K and the coach, I think is making $63K and I don't really how they survive living in the Bay Area. You know by their interviews that they're playing for the rest of the team, to win and there doesn't seem to be any prima donnas. That's why it's fun to watch the Valkyries and not really fun to watch all these other teams with their million dollar endorsement players.

I totally get outside the NBA, MLB, and NFL, the money is just not there.

But, now, WNBA got that chance. Right now. Their areas are selling out (with CC) and had to move to NBA areas. WNBA need a new marketing team. Not saying other players are not great. But one (whoever, them, everyone, etc) does not need to purposely reduce one player to bring up others. It should be the reverse, where one player is used to elevate others.

It does not have to be Michael Jordan or no one else. Or even Michael Jordan or Pippen. I like players such as Xavier McDaniel (Seattle Sonics) as he was exciting to watch, because the NBA was attractive to watch. So I watched.

I totally hear their cries that CC is not the WNBA. Why not "use her" to promote the WNBA? And therefore, help viewers find-discover other "favorite players."

Yes, you can't live with $63K in the Bay Area. Minimum wage is $120K. Even at that we are talking about renting (in San Jose).

To use another sport. I don't watch golf anymore. I don't watch tennis anymore. Call me a casual fan, and that's ok. No shame.

Dickie V. only says positive things about basketball. He had to wag his finger at the WNBA. It is Petty, with a capital P.

Who is more important to their sport? Caitlin Clark to the WNBA or Joey Chestnut to hotdog eating contest.

Expansion depends on the health of Caitlin Clark. If she turns out to be injury prone because the blueprint is to play her physical. These franchises would say, "Nevah Mind."

Fever and Valkyries were both 9-9 before this game which the Valkyries won. I was actually really impressed by the Valkyries passing and Fever lack of defense. I'm sure that CC will always be a big draw in the Midwest and throughout the WNBA world but the Valkyries still have the best attendance. :D

And CC's reaction to slipping is why her popularity with me is waning.

Actually, it looks like a push off by CC, not a foul against defender, Tiffany Hayes.

I'm starting to feel that way too. First they don't call the hits. Now, CC has to add acting to the game to (try to) get the calls. So rather than playing the game, they are lobbying for calls.
