He may get as much playing time as Mardner did at Auburn a couple of years ago.
Maybe it's not about PT ( he was the probable starter at Outside receiver in the fall). Maybe it was get as much NIL$ before your college career is done.

Football or basketball players who transferred from UH to a bigger school who did better. I can only think of Darius Muasau at UCLA and Trevor Davis at Cal. They made it to the NFL.

Here are 2 more, both where starters as freshmen and only played 1 season for us. CB Nick Nelson transfered to Wisconsin ( played for the Raiders) And Keith Kirkwood WR transfered to Temple (was with the Saints).

Well if he couldn't pick up the RNS playbook then you won't play.
Correct me if this is wrong.

The WRs have the "hardest" job because they have to run, read what the defense is giving him, decide, adjust, and then try to catch the ball.

Maybe on the other type of offenses, they run their set routes. And hope the QB sees him and throw the ball.
Yes you are correct.

DT Jonah Laulu (who played for Rolo & TG then transferred to Oklahoma) was a regular in the DT rotation for the Las Vegas Raiders throughout his 2024 rookie season & is still with the Raiders.

Awhile back, former long-time NFL veteran DT Kimo von Oelhoffen (originally from Molokai) transferred from UH (under Wags) to then FCS Boise State before being a 6th Round draft pick who ended up playing in the NFL for 14 seasons.

Boise St. was still an FCS school when Kimo Von Oelhoffen played for them.
Boise St. was known for David Hughes as an FCS school

Can’t blame him with the lack of NIL. Also UH can’t even get their best players undrafted FA deals

Why are we despairing the loss of a possible player in Dekel Crowdus? Nick Mardner was a possible game-changer for Hawaii and Cincinnati...the team that poached him. Players like this have one shot in a new system to make it to the next level. You're right, the money he could make at Wisconsin probably justified his departure...but why then, did he leave the SEC to come to Hawaii?

Hawaii is not a bad place to play. Playing here will not diminish your chances of NIL money or next level play. Ya just gotta be savvy in marketing. Still, you can't buy a better place to be...just ask Oprah...or many of the other outsiders who end up here. It is truly paradise.
