Correct me if I'm wrong , FBS teams get 85 scholarships FCS gets 63 that's 22 less scholarships for men! According to Title 9 it's a 50/50 split in scholarships for men and women. So wouldn't you need to cut 22 women's scholarships to be compliant? So which womens sports do you cut out?

When we look at schools with no limit, maybe D1 would be a division of 15 schools. Everyone else really are struggling with this type of college free agency.
NCAA doesn't have to ask, it up to schools if they feel their program is taking to much of a hit financially.

Idaho dropped to FCS
Drop from FBS a success for Idaho football, UAlbany's FCS foe

“It’s been good,” Idaho second-year coach Jason Eck said. “I think it’s been a really good transition and winning certainly helps. Having success, no matter what level, you’d rather be a really good FCS team than a bad FBS team.”

Idaho is averaging 11,234 fans per game this season inside its 16,000-seat PIFCU Kibbie Dome, a dramatic jump from 4,878 two years ago.
Also years ago Alabama Birmingham dropped football because they were so deep in the but they fundraised to build a better football facility & program
Alabama-Birmingham's decision to drop football should inspire other universities that bleed red ink and sacrifice their integrity to play the sport, write Richard Vedder and Joseph Hartge.

Most FCS schools will opt into the House settlement…

Right now, before the House settlement, the FCS scholarship limit is 63 scholarships that can be spread out over 85 players, AKA partial scholarships. The FBS offers 85 full-ride scholarships.

Opting into the house settlement is optional, but it’s expected that all FBS schools will opt in and most FCS schools will too. Schools must determine and notify the NCAA by March 1 of each year if they plan to opt in for the next school year.

If not can drop womens scholarships for non revenue sports like Track, Swimming, Water Polo, Tennis, Golf, Sailing, etc

I would prefer to stay in D1 Football and try to fix what’s not working. Charlie Wade has proven that UH can compete at the National level successfully. His VB team is young, but the potential is there for another run at a National Championship in a couple years.

TC is rebuilding what TG dismantled before he resigned and left. TC needs to keep building on what’s working and make adjustments to what’s not working. He is making the right decisions. The QB room is looking promising.

To fix the problem, UH Alumni and UH supporters should organize and vote as a block, purging the State of politicians that do not support UH Athletics. UH Alumni and supporters can do it with some organization. The group would identify and endorse a list of politicians that commit to support UH and its athletic program, providing the financing that it needs to compete successfully at the D1 level.

On a private level, as UH develops a winning program, organizing that same group to encourage the business sector to provide NIL funding would be the next step. We may not be able to compete with Oregon, but Hawaii's fan base and business entrepreneurs should be able to organize NIL support for UH Athletes.

The call for UH to go to the FCS is an overreaction on Saturday night or Sunday morning after a UH lost.

I can remember playing teams like Linfield and Pacific. At the time it was okay but that is all we had and interest was so so. I remember a rainy night sitting in section with only 2 other guys. I think at that time high school football was more popular. But when Aloha Stadium opened after one game my friends and I got season tickets. When Dick Tomey got hired everyone got excited and the crowds got bigger. I don’t think that I will ever get that feeling of a stadium that really rocked. The stadium shook so much that I thought that it would fall apart. Having those big schools and joining a conference changed everything. Going back to playing small college ball will just kill any interest in watching those games. Especially while you can watch bigger college ball on TV. And if you think that we are having a hard time getting talent it will only get worse.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

TG did not dismantle the program. Being forced to square up against NFL caliber talent like Zach Charbonnet and Bo Nix did...and then having that same opponent cherry-pick the soul of your defense at the advent of the portal added to the injury. All of the players that fled to the portal were not TG recruits. We kept one Muasau...the other is playing in the NFL. TG won our last bowl game against a ranked opponent.

Chang has been a draw to schools like Trinity-Euless and Bishop Gorman. The local draw has not been a joke either.

My post is based on comments made by players, their parents, and their hiring of an attorney to defend themselves against actions by TG. What is yours based on?

I agree, TG did not dismantle the program.
His departure left us in a challenging predicament that was ultimately addressed.
Dismantling sounds a bit melodramatic. Norm Chow on the other hand....DESTROYED whatever momentum we gained during the JJ and Coach Mack eras.

Yes TG dismantling the program seems to be an excuse used too often for TC's 3 losing seasons.

JJ bounced back from FVA
Rolo also did the same after Chow
I still believe if TG wasn't fired, we would have been bowl eligible in atleast 1 if not all of the past 3 years. Out schedule wasn't that brutal
