UH Wahine Volleyball 2024

The blueprint is there for this UH Wahine volleyball team. Caylen Alexander as the go to player for a kill. You got your reliable setter in Kate Lange who run things. We take her for granted. There are the frosh in Miliana Sylvester and Victoria Leyva who are going to be special. Stella Adeyemi who could be another Van Sickle as an under-size outside hitter who can get kills past tall defenders. Tali Hakas as the next Riley Wagoner with her backrow defense and getting a crucial kill. Jacyn Bamis is going be steady in the middle. Tayli Ikenaga is to be a floor burner making digs.

UH Wahine Volleyball is only UH sports program that isn't shown on a loop on Spectrum Sports Channel 12. You have to watch the replays on YouTube downloaded by username 808 Lev. UH volleyball fans who live on the mainland are grateful of his time and effort to bring you the matches.

The UH Wahine volleyball team tend to have a lot of hitting errors against a tall opponent. The high number of hitting errors happened in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Robyn failed to bring in a transfer portal hammer. With Alexander out, most likely due to overuse on that arm, Wahine have no one reliable go to terminator. Losing Guersching really hurt.

The UH Wahine volleyball team is undersized on the pins. They had height, but those recruits have transferred, turn pro, a medical reason, or left playing volleyball. Those players have been foreign born. So, it can't be for NIL. A couple of them could have been starters for UH. But, they did the Drew Buggs and Justin Webster transfer move which resulted in having their playing time cut in half for their new schools.

Long Beach St. had a bad match. Their head coach and players were laughing because UH could do no wrong that night. She's an interim head coach because the previous head coach left for an assistant coach position. Sounds familiar. At least it was a blessing in disguise as UH hired Charley Wade. The Long St. Beach women's volleyball team is not hateable like the men's volleyball team with a grouchy Alan Knipes as a head coach. They always had an obnoxious player on their team.

Didn't get to watch the match last night versus UC Davis, but Wahine lost 3-1. Hawaii weakness all season long has been the lack of outside hitting firepower with any consistency. Losing Guersching hurt, but not being able to recruit enough blue chip athletes has been a buggaboo for the Wahine for a long time. NIL and transfer portal not working for UH.
