If you don't mind, keep this list going. Sometimes we forget. Mahalo.

Timmy and Shoe must be on a covert operation to recruit a backup QB even if BS13 returns.

Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
Been hearing from in the know and media members on the radio that BS13 is tremendously ahead of JSK, MA & JF. They say a hurt BS13 is still better than what we have. (I don't really buy that but who am I).
I was hoping to get a JC or Portal QB to challenge BS13 and at worst be a solid QB2, while easing in JSK & MA to be the future. With the way BS13 runs and lowers his shoulder instead of sliding, we are a blow away from lowering our odds of winning 6 more games

Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
There was a new video story (forget which channel was it), and don't remember if it was an interview with Chang or BS13, where they are at heart to heart talk, just the two of them, it was a good talk with some tears, about football, life, etc. Don't know what that means. This was after BS13 came back from TP. IMO, I think both men care deeply about UH Football, etc, that it will be a whatever it takes. (I agree with you that it's not smart to risk getting hurt). If BS13 has to lower the shoulder for the 1st Down, that's what he will do.BigWave96744 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 2:07 pm Been hearing from in the know and media members on the radio that BS13 is tremendously ahead of JSK, MA & JF. Some of us will feel he got the potential for CFL, maybe.
But the odds are, this is in. This may be his last year of football.
Point in posting this is that BS13 probably will not show up in threads like this in the future, when we talk about QB1 and QB2. At this time, legacy will not remember BS13, IMO

That 2007 Fresno St game draws haunting memories. Good thing we had a solid QB2 in Tyler Graunkecabanalane wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:53 pm If BS13 has to lower the shoulder for the 1st Down, that's what he will do.
Brennan was knocked out of last night's 37-30 victory over Fresno State with what was initially diagnosed as a grade 3 concussion.

Tyler Graunke can tell his grandkids that he played in the Sugar Bowl and scored the team's only touchdown.
Ditto on that, Tyler Graunke was a legit QB2. He won 2-3? tough games when GOAT#15 was out.

Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
Imagine if JJ stuck with Timmy over giving Rolo a shot?
Heck JJ benched Timmy for Shawn Withy-Allen and we beat UTEP. Also benched Timmy for Jason Wheildon and we beat Alabama.
Also would we have gone bowling in 2016 if Rolo stuck with Ikaika Woolsey over Dru Brown?
Or went to bowl game in 2018 & 2019 if Rolo stuck with Dru over Cole McDonald?
At some point Timmy gotta sit BS13 and see what JKS or MA can do under real game time and not mop up (hand the ball off time).

I don't know at what point you just go all in with Alejado or JKS to try and salvage the season and home attendance.
Imagine Cole McDonald sitting on the bench and never playing if Rolo played Dru Brown all the way to 2019?
Maybe one of the 2 can bring life to the offense.
My other fear is Brennan Marrion takes a HC job next year and Alejado transfers.

On yesterday's TC show, coach said he's loyal to BS13 for returning to Hawaii and will stick with him and redshirt Alejado like he redshirted JKS last year.

And TC talked about the competition next year, like it's going to be a good one to see who is QB1.BigWave96744 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 11:50 am On yesterday's TC show, coach said he's loyal to BS13 for returning to Hawaii and will stick with him and redshirt Alejado like he redshirted JKS last year.
But here is the thing. Suppose JKS got to play in 3-4 games the rest of the season. Assume JKS is a good learner, he will be that much more ahead than MA. Next year will be interesting for sure. I just don't think UH can keep both.
Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
I was thinking about Alejado. If he goes to UNLV it would be a better offense for him under Brennan Marrion. It suits his size and mobility. And UNLV has 2 seniors getting the reps now so come next season it will be a wide open competition at QB.BigWave96744 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:19 pm I don't know at what point you just go all in with Alejado or JKS to try and salvage the season and home attendance.

Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
The sales pitch would be "coming home" for Alejado.
Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
TC really needs to include Alejado in future plans for the offense and not give him the inkling about transferring. Schager is a serviceable QB but he is a drop back, pro style QB, not an RnS QB and it shows with the current offensive output.

Re: Hawaii QB1 &2 (1999-Current)
What's a RNS QB? Any QB can be a RNS QB. A drop back, pro style QB can definitely run and excel in a RNS offense. Protect him and he can deal. But that's the issue with the offense, very little to no protection and not emphasizing shorter WR routes to mask the offensive line problems.
A more accurate statement would be a more mobile QB could create more.
