Agree. Always nice to see talented dbs coming here. Cover corners are a premium. We can use the competition.Palolo_2LA wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 3:13 pmElite CBs are rare, especially at UH. Don't assume Edward's or Stone are locks as starters. I'd prefer Edward's at Safety since he has range, but was burnt a bunch at CB.TheDuke wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 12:09 pm we have Edwards and Stone starting at CB. We need safety help in 2024 to build an elite D.

Among the returning safeties are Peter Manuma, Meki Pei and Matagi Thompson. USC transfer Fabian Ross is joining the rotation. Makana Meyer and Kilinahe Mendiola-Jensen have recovered from injuries. Nickelbacks Elijah Palmer and Justin Sinclair also are back.

Any info on how Fabian Ross looks at safety?

Re: Safety and CB discussion
I assume he's going to compete with Edward's since Cam is a lock on the other side.
Edward's got burnt a bunch last yr and I'd like to see him at SS or NB. He's way bigger than our current options at Safety and NB.

Wonder how's he looking on depth chart at safety. I think Kona Moore may not be 100%

He's not in the 2 deep. I'm assuming maybe #4 at one of the safety position. Was hoping for more from him.BigWave96744 wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 1:53 pm Wonder how's he looking on depth chart at safety. I think Kona Moore may not be 100%

Was moved back to CB during Fall Camp….but hasn’t been healthy….just like Virdell Edwards II & Devyn King….which is why Jaheim Wilson-Jones & Deliyon Freeman were in the CB rotation together with Caleb “C-Bo” Brown after Cam Stone rolled his ankle in the Northern Iowa game.Irse wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:14 pmHe's not in the 2 deep. Another guy who never delivered. Unfortunately, some players don't reach their potential. Best of luck to him.
