Coach Misipeka is really going a great job recruiting players from Samoa. Even though Julius Purcell-Telfoni is a Freshman, he's wearing #8 which is traditionally the QB/best athlete at Samoana HS.

2026 is a long way to go. but an early verbal commitment is a good start.

I believe that his sister, Malinah Purcell-Telefoni committed to UH Women's VB for 2024. Moved from Samoa and now plays for Kapolei.

Must be living with Uncle Mel Purcell who lives on Kauai.

Transferred back to American Samoa for his 2024 junior season playing WR for Samoana HS....but has now transferred once again....this time to Columbus HS (Miami, FL.) for his upcoming 2025 senior season and is now playing OLB. Probably no longer a UH commit given that Misipeka is gone to the U.
