Kahuku is still the team to beat. Year in and year out it’s always this is Mililani year. Kahuku just reloads and Carvalho has that program humming. Even with Taya and June Jones, Still would put Kahuku #1

Treston Kini McMillan was among the Top Five QB’s at the Elite 11 Regional Midwest stop near Columbus Ohio. 247sports scouts liked his arm ( they used the term “flamethrower”) and his ability to put the ball in a tight window to the receiver. College coaches on hand awarded McMillan the top spot in the Panini Accuracy Challenge.

Sad to say, linebacker/edgerusher Z. Mariteragi will also suit up for the Govs this year.

I think even 3star recruits transferring is going to become a trend. Kahuku HC Carvalho alluded to it last year in a Star-Advertiser article about OIA HC reactions to blending Open and D-I teams into two separate conferences.

Some HC’s were in favor, some not. Carvalho was not. As I recall, he said a lot of his players were trying to get scholarships to college and wanted to get more playing time to build up better highlight videos. The problem was that he was having to pull his starters in the first half against the four D-I teams he has to play because they were already mercy ruling those teams before half the game was over. The inference would seem to be that even the 3star talents think they need to be on the field all the clock to get enough highlights. I get it, but I get the HC doesn’t want to replicate an 80-0 or 104-0 beatdown of an opponent.
