Mor Seck enters transfer portal

Mor Seck, a 7-foot-1 rim protector for the University of Hawaii basketball team, has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.

“I don’t want to leave Hawaii because the people are great out here,” Seck told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in a telephone interview. “I’d love to be in Hawaii. I don’t have a choice. I need to go somewhere I can grow up. I want to challenge myself and go to a different school.”

That's the reality of Big West basketball. The best projected player for the upcoming season decides to transfer to a bigger conference. I don't know if Drew Buggs or Justine Webster had regrets about transferring. Their playing time got cut in half.

Too bad to see him go but understand his reasoning. Needs development to improve beyond shot blocking and rebounding. Looked the same year one and two. Don’t see him going to a school like Kentucky though. Realistically could see him going to Mountain West school or maybe WCC. Good luck to him and hope he gets somewhere that will expand and improve his skill set.

Ganot and staff have rarely developed their players. No big surprise that Seck would transfer. A boring UH offense with little to no creativity. Opposing defenses already know what the Warriors are going to do on offense before UH does it.

Does foreign players allowed to get NIL money? Maybe he can receive more amount of meal stipend at a bigger school. But, a foreign big man can get hooked on fast food. Joel Embid is criticized for eating a junk food diet causing him to be a little overweight and run out of gas at the end of the season.

Didn't know Mor Seck was injured during the season. If I were Ganot, I would encourage him to stay and work out at practice and redshirt him this year so that he can preserve his eligibility provided that Eran feels like he could actually help him improve his basketball skills. It's actually hard for him to sell his skills and athleticism when he's injured.
