2023-24 NFL Playoffs
Re: 2023-24 NFL Playoffs
My team last year was the Cincinnati Bengals. I like Joe. This year, it was the Detroit Lions. Somehow, they lost to San Francisco.

Went to the fitness center this morning and it was about a third of its normal crowd and I was trying to think why? Then I tuned into one of the TVs and ear plugs and they said that 16M were not going to show up for work because of the Superbowl. Really? I thought my Dubs win over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday was much more entertaining than the Super Bowl.

Look, a celebrity spotlight on an NFL girlfriend is nothing new: Uhm...how about Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo? I would bet that a lot of celebrity owners got more attention than Taylor Swift did over the years. I think some ugly ones like Jerry Jones have just depleted my happy dream time. IDK.

I listen to KNBR, which is the sports station in the Bay Area and they still have not let up on the Super Bowl. The one second guessing that I never caught although it seemed obvious to me is that Kyle Shanahan felt like it was going to be a fourth quarter game and, my thinking is that you cannot keep it close in the fourth quarter because that's Patrick Mahomes time. So, while Tony Romo said they should run to move the yards sticks up in the third and fourth quarter, it was Purdy shotgun in first and second down and predictably third down which just gets this KC defense fired up. Did SF not see how they pulverized Lamar Jackson? Third quarter was the 9ers demise. Little running, little play action.

Yes, sadly, the 49er's offense was predictable. Purdy is good, but as green as a Christmas wish of a cookie left for Santa. The Chiefs knew he was gonna pass in the middle and run a lot. The Chiefs offense didn't fare much better. The 9er edge rushers were downright T2-robotic-like. It was not the best game I watched, but it was respectable. Momentum, nerves, and luck played a big role in this one.

The best parts of the Superbowl telecast were Tony Romo's timing describing the play during KC's Walkoff celebration.
The other one was a little ditty about Taylor and Travis. Two American kids in the heartland. Hold on to the trophy as long as they can. Changes come real soon make them women and men.

Actually, Newton is a pretty stand-up dude. He parted ways with Urban Meyer and had to go JUCO in order to make things right. Apparently it was a former Meyer assistant at Miss. St. that leveled the accusation after Auburn bested Miss. St. that year. After I watched this interview, I better understood where Newton was coming from.
