Re: Eliki Tanuvasa transferring to UH
As much as we always welcome local boys home, but do we need to ask "why?"
(the link does not work to see the full story - if it was mentioned.)
Local kids choose to leave for brighter lights and perhaps realized mainland it's not all cracked up to be. (Just like Hawaii residences moving to the mainland, and realized it sucks.)
I wonder if there are some "resentment" from those players that stayed, and actually made UH their first choice, and never got the attention that these top rank local HS players that choose the mainland (over Hawaii).

His dad is cousin to Ma'a.
Re: Eliki Tanuvasa transferring to UH
According to the news, his father is really ill. He went away to an FCS school because he did not get any FBS offers (possibly had an offer from Army but I'm not sure). UH gave him a preferred walk-on offer. EIU offered him a scholarship.cabanalane wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 5:13 am As much as we always welcome local boys home, but do we need to ask "why?"

Welcome home! Adding kids that are accustomed to winning and from winning traditions makes a difference. Also, adding a kid looking to learn and has a good motor makes him a good prospect. He will need to lose 25+ lbs and work on feet, but can still be effective at the C or OG positions.
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.
