I've read the story of RS and his wife, Cynthia, whom he met at a JC college that both journeyed together to UH, then Indianapolis, where every step of the way she was his biggest cheerleader and support. She would shag his punts, be his long snapper, watch film with him and be his guiding light. When RS made the team 3 seasons ago he pushed on to work harder and Cynthia would always be at his side. This is truly a Love Story. RS knew he was having surgery today, his tumor didn't just crop up on him. Yet he went on as far as he could- playing/punting in last Sunday's game for a 50 yard average for the love of the game, Indianapolis, and especially for his wife. A preceding statement by RS, "God has a plan for me." I join in with others and pray that RS
makes a full recovery.

Rigo's surgery was successful. Prayers that he fully recovers. It appears that he actually knew about his problem before the Sunday game but decided to announce it on the Monday following. Didn't know he had kickoff duties as well. Warrior.

Punter Rigoberto Sanchez went down during the sprints and suffered an Achilles injury, a team spokesperson said. He'll undergo further testing Wednesday, and if it confirms a tear, he will miss the upcoming season.

That's too bad. Been a great punter. Hope he recovers fully.

Why is a punter required to do suicide sprints? Hope he can come back strong next year.

I read that he participated even though he wasn't required to.

I was just looking at his stats just last week as he is the most successful UH player in the last decade in the NFL. He should recover quicker if it's not his kicking leg.
