UH Will Play at Ching Field - 100% Capacity Being Allowed
Re: UH Will Play at Ching Field - But No Fans For Now, Band Now Allowed
How can they still call it a homecoming game if there is no one there who is coming "home"? Thanks Gov Ige!
Cats don't have owners. Cats have servants.

How can Ige be so obstinate? With 3 games left I don't think he's changing his mind. However this is what I suggest for the student leaders and administration at the school is to open the door to current UH students that want to become honorary band members for a game. Recruit as many as you can, and preferably set the genius record(?) for the largest marching band-9000 members to be exact. Fill the stadium and make a statement and headlines across the nation and expose Ige (does he realize that hospitalizations are down over 60% from 3 weeks ago). Have the new members playing their plastic horns, drums, flutes, vuvuzelas and earn an activity credit from the school plus be supporting the team in person. Because somebody has to. And somebody has to be thinking outside the box (like taking this matter to court, protesting louder to Ige, doing something) because before you know it the season is over.
Note-pull this off and I would bet donations to the school would skyrocket.

Finally!!HONOLULU (KHON2) — Governor David Ige is planning to loosen restrictions, including allowing some fans to attend the next UH football game.
The plan is believed to allow for about a thousand fans, mostly players’ family members, to attend.

I get that the evenings are cooler in the 70's but I'd like to see them with packed stands midday in Hawaii maybe 2 or 3pm. There's a pretty good breeze in Manoa.

players' families may be in stands for new mexico state game oct.23
there may be a chance for families of players to be in the stands for new mexico state on october.23.
a small chance. ige still needs to give his royal nod and he wants to see the u.h. plans for moving fans into and out of the stadium and how they will be controlled, if concessions will be allowed or if fans can bring their own snacks and drinks. we're not there yet. if families get in to see their sons play, god bless them, they deserve it. can't believe how far behind hawaii is in "following the science".
san diego state is at the door step of being ranked in the top 25. by the time they arrive in honolulu to play on november.06 they might be ranked. hope to see fans filling the stands for that game.

San Diego State is ranked #25 this week. Fresno State is no longer ranked.

I see this as a political move now. Open up the games, and everyone will love Ige again. Ige for Governor. Is election year coming up?
Not opening up the game would be political suicide.

Ige is done anyways. I have no hope for reasonable people in government. It can occur. But our voters have nothing to do with it. Our voters are actually worse than our politicians. Ige is actually what you get when you vote Ige. This is what the people want. No can change that.cabanalane wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:01 am I see this as a political move now.
