Now is the time for HS recruits to submit a "SOLID COMMIT" and not waver around until Feb to notify coaches of their intent to sign.

As of yesterday there were over 1300 in the Transfer Portal and thats not even counting JC transfers. Teams will also be reluctant to Blue or Gray shirt because it will just hinder recruiting next year.

The trickle down effect will affect schools at all levels and lower tier HS players and lower tier grad transfers will be left with little options at the D1 level and may have to seek FCS or lower levels.

Stronger teams will load up, weaker teams will become weaker.

Tennessee currently has 23 in the portal. That's almost 1/5 of their roster. Guys leaving are 3* or higher.

With so many players still continuously entering the transfer portal.....especially from Power-5 program, late de-commits by some mid-tier 2021 HS prospects might actually be the ripple effect of those Power-5 programs deciding to pull their original scholarship offer(s) and instead cherry-picking proven experienced player(s) from another Power-5 program now available in the transfer portal.

As bad as recruiting is for 2021 HS prospects in Texas (where the 2020 HS football season was played), it's gotta be that much worse for California 2021 HS prospects who didn't play a 2020 HS football season.....and even worse for Hawaii 2021 HS prospects with even less exposure without any Summer 2020 camps in addition to no 2020 HS football season.

ASU HC Herm Edwards is trying to be PC....but is really a hypocrite....being that he pulled scholarships from several 2021 HS players who were early ASU commits.

One FBS program did not sign a single high school recruit in 2021
By Zach Barnett - February 4, 2021

Credit: Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports
In his state of the profession press conference last month, AFCA executive director Todd Berry warned of a future where teams did not recruit high school players, instead living exclusively off the transfer portal. This, Berry said, would be bad for players and the sport in general since statistics show players who transfer are less likely to graduate, but it’d be shrewd roster-building for coaches, since all transfers would have exercised their one-time transfer exception in joining their roster, thus locking them in for the duration of their college careers.

That future is not some middle-distant worry for two to three years from now. In fact, one school is already trying it.

Early college programs have high school students entering college with 30+ college credits. Leading to graduate transfers who still got at least two years remaining.

They really need to do something about college recruiting. Unfair to a lot of the kids. I have a feeling the NCAA will do nothing and unfortunately, Congress would have to get involved.

Too many kids commit then change their mind when a better offer opens up. This is unfair to colleges.

To me nothing will change until a kids commit is binding like an LOI.

Then colleges will be selective on who they offer

I think both sides have to make the commitment binding. Maybe not have a LOI period and just sign the LOI when the player commits.
