Big Ten looks like they will play starting in October.Pac-12 may get serious about playing soon after California Governor says colleges can play in his state with health protocols in place. MWC probably will look at fall start for football too. Not sure if it works out for these three leagues, but the Big Ten has started the momentum for play in 2020 for leagues that had earlier postponed until spring 2021.
We will see.
ACC,Big12,Sun Belt, independents already playing,to be joined by the SEC this weekend.High schools in some states are in their fifth or fourth week of competition already.

Looks as though UH might get not get a full-schedule from the MWC.....probably because it'll depend on how the proposed mainland travel re-opening program works out (now intended for Oct. 15; now delayed 3 times from August 1, then from Sept. 1, now from Oct. 1)…..

At this point in the season, I would prefer that MWC try not to schedule games in colder climates like Boise, Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado State. I would prefer that they select neutral sites for those Rocky Mountain teams like Arizona and try to schedule a lot of the games in Hawaii as well with small or no crowds.kapakahi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 2:28 am Looks as though UH might get not get a full-schedule from the MWC.....probably because it'll depend on how the proposed mainland travel re-opening program works out (now intended for Oct. 15; now delayed 3 times from August 1, then from Sept. 1, now from Oct. 1)….. https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/1306423055040811008 https://twitter.com/MountainWest/status/1306276698686513153

Whimp!!!!!!!!!! I want all the games in the Rocky Mountain region. Hell, with the way things are going both Hawaii and the three CA schools will have play all road games this year. So who knows....Hawaii @ Wyoming for the MW Championship during a really bad blizzard (6 inches to a foot of snow) with 35 MPH winds and temps near 0 Fahrenheit. Gotta love it.shrek2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 3:06 pmAt this point in the season, I would prefer that MWC try not to schedule games in colder climates like Boise, Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado State. won't happen. There are costs to consider.shrek2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 3:06 pmAt this point in the season, I would prefer that MWC try not to schedule games in colder climates like Boise, Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado State. In the words of The Gladiator: Are you NOT entertained?!!! We've built a good team with, potentially, some of the best coaches I've ever seen at Hawaii...well...save for the coaching staff that McMackin put together. Can football be played in balloon suits? Can it be played with respirator isolation systems? Hawaii is economically and morally disadvantaged. It cannot afford to play the Hunger Games to satisfy 'normality'.
Re: 2020 season POSTPONED eff 8/10/20
only need 9 teams for a pure 8 game schedule.

https://www.mwcconnection.com/2020/9/21 ... y-schedule
https://twitter.com/MWCConnection/status/1308043372326682625Another factor is the local protocols in California and Hawaii as both of these would need to be relaxed for a return to play. California has allowed a return to practice and will not inhibit the start of the season as Governor of California of California Gavin Newsom has already stated, however there is complications with traveling to Hawaii in terms of quarantining so those protocols would need to be loosened if Hawaii was going to participate in the season.

*City & County of Honolulu extended its “Stay-at-Home, Work-at-Home” order for 2 weeks ending September 24, 2020.
