At least Trump hasn't quoted the Yul Brenner representation of the King of Siam,
"But...Is a puzzlement!"
and,
"Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!"

That would get the Thai people's blood boiling.

Hah....those movies are banned over here. To be fair, Trump commits a lot of verbal blunders. His cabinet is full of novices that...just don't understand how the world works.

For the second consecutive day, Thailand on Tuesday reported no new coronavirus cases, domestic or imported [and for more than 2 months domestically]. The total number of cases remains 3,351.

Global Covid-19 cases rose by 224,872 over the past 24 hours to 20.25 million. The death toll was up 4,720 to 738,715. The United States had the most cases at 5.25 million, up 52,002, and the most deaths at 166,192, up 575.
Jina (China)...King Trump...Karens...and Tea-party people politicized this pandemic. STOP the madness, people. Which of these things do not belong together...which of these things is not the same? Wash your hands. Wear a mask. When in doubt...quarantine for 14 days.

Science at work...keeping the local people safe:

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... irus-cases
Five new Covid-19 infections have been detected, bringing the total to 3,356, with no new fatalities, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Wednesday.

Three new cases were Thai students, aged 23, 24 and 29 years, who returned from Egypt on July 30 and stayed at a state quarantine facility in Chon Buri.

They were found with the virus by their second test, on Monday. They showed no symptoms.

Another Thai student, 18, who arrived from India on July 30, was also found infected with the virus by the second test on Monday, during quarantine in Bangkok.

The student had developed a cough, headache and muscle pain, and a runny nose, on Aug 3, the CCSA said.

The fifth new patient was a male US citizen who arrived from the United States on July 28. He was quarantined at a place in Bangkok and showed no symptoms, but his second test on Monday was positive.

The total number of cases was now 3,356, with 129 patients being treated at hospitals, the CCSA said. Fatalities were unchanged at 58 since June 2.

Returnees from Egypt have the second highest number of infections, with 53 cases, after Indonesia, with 75, the CCSA reported.
Yes, I live in a country which has many problems. One of those problems is not an ignorance of scientific protocol. Living covid-free is not impossible. Suck it up...wear a mask.

Thailand is currently caught in a number of quandaries that will continue to threaten the economy and stability of the country. Meanwhile the borders remain largely sealed, with the prospect of general tourist travel being pushed forward until at least 2021.

“The Christmas period, usually the high season, is in jeopardy and I’m looking horribly even to Chinese New Year in February, which is an iffy proposition at best now. Unfortunately, this is not a rosy picture.”

Earlier plans for travel bubbles, with similarly low-risk countries have also been shelved at the moment as some of the potential countries have had recent spikes, including Vietnam, Australia (mostly Melbourne), Japan, and just today, New Zealand.
Hawaii isn't the only tourist reliant economy in the world. Please understand that this goes beyond regional politics. WEAR a mask!

I had been tempted to share a true thigh-land Reuters picture...but decided not to. Now, I can't find the darn story to rebut. Meh, rest assured they're ppe-equipped...with not much else. It's safe here. Still, everyone acts like the plague is present. The biggest error here is social distancing. We DO NOT have coronvirus...at all. Still, everyone wears a mask and refrains from speaking in public spaces...as best as can. The social distancing part is difficult.

You can get a real-time covid-19 test here for about $100.
Thailand reported another solitary corona-virus infection from overseas on Monday, for a total of 3,378. Of that number, 3,194 have recovered.

The number of hospitalized corona-virus patients is now 126. The death toll has remained at 58 since June 2.
Science Trumps all, folks. The US is number 1 thanks to Trump--in just about every category. Well, except for the fake one he created for his illadvised AXIOS interview.

Apparently, the Congressional recess is a plot to kill the Postal Service. Thank you, McConnell and Trump.

Okay, so there's a terrific interview with Mathew Mcconaughey and Dr. Fauci, but that full interview is blocked here. In essence, he says that the primary way to get this virus is by not wearing a mask. Wear a mask, people.

This virus is a beast.
The first Covid-19 case outside the state quarantine area was found on Wednesday (August 19) – the 86th day for Thailand without a domestic case.

The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital said a Thai returnee from Dubai, who spent 14 days in state quarantine before being released, returned with symptoms on Wednesday.

He is currently being treated at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital.

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... -returnees
The government on Thursday reported seven new cases of coronavirus disease, quarantined returnees from Egypt, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, raising the total to 3,389.

All the new cases were asymptomatic. Infection rates were 11.73% among people coming from Egypt, 0.22% from Hong Kong, 2.43% from Singapore and 6.86% from the UAE, the CCSA said.
I don't know what to say for those who dislike science or common courtesy to your neighbors. Please wear a mask.

The lies continue...who put this idiot in charge of the pandemic response? Oh, yeah...Trump.
He says they have more than 100 thousand ventilators stock-piled. It's a little late, no?

There has been soooo much content to refute this nonsense since this was posted, but I can't help but point out that this VERY response by Pence is Trump's position. This is the Trump response to the pandemic: appoint idiots to handle national problems.

This one's entertaining. There's not much educational value, but it did make me laugh...at the end.
