Maybe, just maybe the NFL can salvage a shortened season but I think the NCAA is gonna be hard pressed to get a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds to engage in a full contact sport 4 months from now. Just seems unlikely. Hope I’m wrong(providing it’s safe to be wrong)
At this point, nothing will surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if all colleges go online only for the fall semester and we have football and basketball as the only sports played in the spring since that are the two biggest money makers for the NCAA.

That would actually be a great idea.

The University of Hawaii’s scheduled football opener at Arizona is in doubt, UA president Robert C. Robbins said in a radio interview.
The game is scheduled for Aug. 29 in Tucson.

https://www.staradvertiser.com/2020/04/ ... -in-doubt/

Using the above as an example. Does anyone think that if the cancel the Fall season football, does that mean the entire schedule get pushed back?

Meaning the next UH game, whenever that maybe, will be UH vs UA at Arizona?

Games are lined up 6-7 years in advance (something like that). So does everything get pushed back, or they are just cancelling this coming season?

Good questions. No one really knows. A few of the guys on WyoNation (a Wyoming site I help moderate) were asking the same thing.

Looks like Arizona Governor is willing to open up Major League Sports on May 15th, so we may want to follow the results of that as that will prove the outcome of the UA/UH game.

The California State University system announced today that Fall Semester classes will be conducted primarily on-line. This includes 3 MWC football programs (Fresno State, San Diego State & San Jose State)…..as well as 5 Big-West Conference non-football programs (Cal Poly, CSUN, Fullerton, Long Beach State...and new 1st year member Bakersfield).

Kapakahi thanks for keeping a pulse on what's happening. Good knowledge. I wonder if schools will opt for exhibition games and not engage in full conference play? SJSU and SDSU would probably fall in line with not playing but my guess is Fresno is going to open up completely. All the LA County schools are going to fall in line with Newsom's orders and/or the Chancellor's guidelines.

NFL draft got crazy views because there was nothing else to do. As more things open up and people can get out, I would think TV viewership will go down quite a bit.

Expect the transfer portal to get busier with players from California colleges attempting to get out of Cali into a state where they think college football will be played this year. HS commits might rethink their commitment to a California school as well.

Social distancing in a stadium works at Aloha Stadium. It's not going to work at other mainland stadiums. If that stadium is at 80% full or even 60%, might be kind of hard to space people out.

UA is planning to return on 8/24/20 https://uanews.arizona.edu/story/presid ... asses-fall

Will the players be ready? Sometimes, teams are not even ready out of the gate with a full Spring and Summer practice. Stats are going to go down this season.
